I am 16.5. I have been able to sing low G on the bass staff and occasionally lower but over the past two weeks those notes have become airy and worthless. Low C is even weak sometimes. Also I am able to sing a high Ab and high A infrequently. My voice is weakened greatly if I sustain a pitch up there plus the tone is whiny. Can one's voice shift higher?

I need to know the STANDARD fingerings for both hands playing minor scales- it would be nice if answers could cite a method book or other reference. Please use '1' for the thumb, '2' for the index finger, '3' for the middle finger and so on. If you don't know all the scales, even just a few would be fine. Any 'rules' for certain scales or groups of scales (such as 'in the major scales A-flat through B-flat, the right hand fourth finger always lands on B-flat, and left hand fourth finger always lands on the fourth degree of the scale') would be greatly appreciated as well. Please do not note any fingerings other than the ones considered 'standard', as noted by any method book from the U.S., U.K. or France.

I know that learning how to play an instrument is never easy, but, what would you say is the least difficult instrument to learn how to play rather well in the shortest amount of time (2-3 years).

I'm not rich, so it's not like I can just go to a film acting school, or get into the film industry. I have no way of making that kind of money to get there. It's my dream and I can't think of doing anything else. I would be unhappy If I did anything else. I don't understand the meaning of this life. It makes virtually no sense to me. I've always had talent, and have tried to get an agent, but have been scammed everytime I try. I don't know anyone who is famous or that is in the film industry that can help me. I have talent in acting, singing, and screen-writing. But I can't afford to get an agent, and I can't afford to pay thousands of dollars to get into the Screen Writers Guild. So should I just give up?

I am 17 years old, a new senior in high school, and I play flute and plan to major in flute performance in college. I need a job to start saving money for not only college, but plane flights to all my college auditions. I would like to possibly start giving private lessons to little kids starting out on flute, and was looking for any advice or warnings people might have to offer. I have thought about this, its not just a whim, and I will definately be organized and have a plan. I have been playing for 8 years, and I am an experienced player, but I have never taught anyone really. Any thoughts? How should I go about trying to start this, and finding students?

How hard will it be to learn how to play songs such by artists who sing along to acoustic guitar solos such as Donnel Jones and Anthony Hamilton? Is it just basic chords that I need to learn or is it very complicated? Also is it necessary to take private lessons in order to learn how to play the guitar? Because I was hoping to teach myself with video tapes and online lessons or maybe if I have to take guitar classes at my college.
