yea so im pretty decent at everything that has to do with art, as in music, painting, photography and lately I've been interested in Acting and producing films..

im good equially, better at painting thats my ability, but I dont want that it bores me to death, photography is okay...so what should I choose.. actress and film director or singer and music producer.

people have more chances of makiing a living in the field of music or acting?

i know a lot of people who teach themselves to play the guitar using online lessons or books or both. can you do the same thing to learn to play the piano/keyboard... or do you need formal training?

in people's opinion, what's more difficult to learn to play... the guitar or piano/keyboard?

thanks!

i want to join a band at my school- i know it sounds dorky, but what i'm really interested in is the band trip to NY in a few months... i live in ontario, so i wouldnt usually get the oppertunity to do this, especially considering my finacial problems.... Anyway, the problem is i want to play the flute but don't know how, and i need to at least know the basics before i join the band, but even though i have had a flute for a few days now, i havent even figured out one measly scale. I've looked up flute finger charts, but they've been no help-- i dont understand them! I really want to go on the trip, but how can i if i can't play anything?!?

Signed,
Helpless woodwinder wannabe

I pefer the woodwinds [[though I like the trumpet]] of course because I play the flute. Most of my friends say brass because they're all almost brass O.o

My friend and I, both 15, are about to start learning how to play the acoustic guitar.

I was wondering if you play the acoustic guitar the same way you play an electric guitar? Is there a difference in how to play, or are they just different kinds of guitars?

Also, I really want to learn how to play Collide by Howie Day...how long do you think it'll be until I get there?

I play two instruments, the piano and the violin.
I love the piano and I did grade 8 when I was 13 and I truly am passionate about it. After my exam I decided to start another instrument... namely the violin. I've been learning for 2 years and I hate the thing. I hate my teacher, I hate the instrument, I hate everything about it. I don't know how to tell my parents though because its costed them alot and I don't want it all to go to waste.... I practice but I dont think this is a "time" thing. I really really don't like it.. How do I tell my parents?!

ps. I have asian parents (the pushy naggy sort)
