I usually play acoustic or electric guitar, and I have calluses from that. However, about every other week I fill in playing Bass guitar in a band, and about two hours into playing (out of about 4 hours) my fingers begin to kill. Obviously, I could play the Bass more often, and build up calluses in the areas where the strings touch, but I don't really have the ambition to do that. So I was wondering if anyone had any temporary remedies, such as tape or whatever?

Playing Guitar?

I'm starting to play the guitar and I can play power chords pretty well but I wanna learn how to play like blues or something like Jimi Hendrix or Aerosmith. Any suggestions on how I can learn how to play those types of styles.

What are your talents and what do you plan to use them for (or did)?

Please tell me your talents and what you wish to use them for or what you did use them for or whatever. What things you hope you are good at etc.

I can:

- Sing - To become a singer.
- Play piano - To become a musician.
- Run real fast - Hmm... not sure maybe to raise money.
- Really good speller - Help me songwrite
- Write stories etc - Write stories lol music etc.

I need to find out if I can:

- Dance - Help to do performances on stage. (I don't think I'm good at it)
- Act - I think I'm quite good at it. Not that best at it but I am trying to take part in shows to find out so I can be an actress.

That's all i can think of right now but I might add more if I can think of more but please don't say you're talentless because EVERYONE has at least one gift. :) Just maybe you haven't noticed your yet. :)

New guitar learner?

I've been wanting a guitar for a while now, because I've really been getting into rock and metal genres, but I'm not so sure. I'm completely new to the instrument, but have a passion for the music so i think i could learn. Many people say i should get an acoustic guitar first, but i am a bit confused. I have played violin for 3 years and cello for one, and can read both trebel and base clef in case thats relevant in any way. It would also be extremely helpful if anyone can reccomend some starting equipment for me. The sort of music i listen to include AC/DC, Queen, Dragonforce, Breaking Benjamin... well you get the picture. Thanks very much if you answer! (sorry if its long, just trying to be informative)

I'd think flute, since it's bigger, but idk some ppl say differently. I've never actually played piccolo before but i do play flute =D

How long to be a competent guitar player?

I've played bass for a long time, but I know some guitar basics like chords. Recently bass hasn't been enough company with my singer songwriter aspirations. How long does it take to play well enough to accompany myself? Am I better off just joining a band as vocalist?

whats the best brand to get for an electric guitar?

im getting my best friend an electric guitar for christmas.

how i can make my voice more beautiful?

I love to sing and everytime I sit back and relax or when I have free time, I can' help but to sing...Its not being a proffesional singer I want to be but for me... having this talent is one of my assets and I dont want to loose it. please can someone out there can give me some tips on how to make your voice beautiful and how to take care of it.
