I'm starting to play the guitar and I can play power chords pretty well but I wanna learn how to play like blues or something like Jimi Hendrix or Aerosmith. Any suggestions on how I can learn how to play those types of styles.

Take some lessons. It all pays off once you get real good.

OMG I want to do the same thing

I take lessons and this is what my instructor suggested to start off doing.

First, listen to the music, get a feel for what the blues music rhythm sounds like. The the beauty of the blues is that as long as you follow the blues scale and you have a sense of rhythm while playing it, you can't go wrong!

Here's a link to the blues scale.

Learn it. Memorize it.

Then, just throw a bunch of notes together, and trust me as long as you have rhythm it will sound great.

Hope I helped! Email me if you want for further updates on what my instructor suggests for me to do, or for any other questions you may have.

Hope I helped!

Much more hinges on playing guitar than concentrating solely on power chords.

Start now by learning as many full-six-string chords that you can, coupled with their progressions in every key signature possible. Don't settle on playing the simple ones, but Ab, Bb, Eb, Gb, Db, et cetera. Dare to challenge your own versatility and learn the entire fretboard while you're at it.

Just look up the tabs and learn to play whatever.... if u take lessons then do that every so often to break the monotony. Personally Ive never taken lessons i just looked up a bunch of tabs and kept practicing till i got good.
