Weird? Everyone is wierd in their own way. There really is no such thing as normal except a cycle on a washing machine. I like poetry and art. I think it's cool. I don't necessarily read Shakespeare, but Edgar Allen Poe.

You just have different tastes than your mates. It's fine and they should like you for who you are. Also Shakespeare's work is a classic and is also used a lot in school curriculum so your friends may not think it's so weird when they're the ones who are asking you for help on it. Also if you really like it you can even make your passion into a career as a historian, artist, and many others!

Why is that weird? Maybe your mates aren't smart enough to appreciate the finer things in life. Don't let their comments keep you back from liking literature and art.

If they are 'typical' and believe Timberpuke and Beyonce represent the height of art for the planet then I can understand. If they are a little more worldly and educated, then I would be confused at their opinion.
BTW, my favorite is Macbeth. And I love Rembrandt (the importance of that one spot of light!). And don't get me started on classical music.

The depressing thing is that as your friendsget older they may become less wise. I am 47 and i have friends I went to college with who have never read a novel in more than 25 years.

Well, you're not weird! We all have our different likes and tastes. You're not the only one! I like musicals, both foreign and Broadway, and people think I'm the strangest thing that's ever walked the planet.

God forbid you have an interest in something that is philosophical and educated. Don't worry, I have a lot of respect for people who show an interest in those things. You'll find in time that it will make you look mature and well rounded.

why do they think you are weird? different people like defferent things. i like shakespeare, hes cool, and lots of my friends do too, but i dont think any of them are weird.
