A good, fun duet for females is "Bosom Buddies" from "Mame." It's a song about old friends who can tell each other anything--and boy, do they ever! One suggests that the other wear her hair "more natural like mine," and the other says "If it were natural like yours, I'd be bald!"

Here's a YouTube link of the 2 Broadway originals, Angela Lansbury and Bea Arthur, doing the duet! I think you'll really enjoy it!

"McCavity" from the musical Cats is a duet for two female parts. I think they're both alto, or lower.

Something from Wicked sounds like a good idea to me. Also, you could do "All that Jazz" from Chicago.

I think "For Good" from Wicked would be great. Fantastic song.
Others:
--"In His Eyes", Jekyll and Hyde
--"I Still Believe", Miss Saigon (I love this one)
--"I WIll Never Leave You," Side Show
--"Lady's Maid" from Titanic (you'd have to do a bit of reworking, it's for three girls)
--"Angel of Music", Phantom of the Opera

don't do the regulars from wicked, they are really overdone. but may i suggest one short day? it's a lot less heard of, and is still a 2 girl duet! also, think about angel of music from phantom of the opera, we're all too caught up with christine sometimes that we forget about poor meg! have fun and a great performance!

"Sisters" from White Christmas - It's a hilarious song that two sisters sing... "God help the mister who comes between me and my sister, and God help the sister who comes between me and my man!"

"Stepsister's Lament" from Cinderella - the two ugly stepsisters make fun of Cinderella, and try to cover up their own shortcomings. "Why would a fella want a girl like her, a girl who's merely lovely"

There's a really beautiful female duet from Godspell called "By My Side" - It's more to display vocal talents than acting, if you'd rather show vocal strength.

Here are a few, most of which I can't personally recommend because I haven't heard them, but there are examples on the site:

and click "Female Duets"

I wish you the best of luck!! :)

I think you're pretty safe with those songs.. As in those are some good picks. There is also In His Eyes from Jeckyll and Hyde or Out of Your Dreams from Oklahoma. Of course for Out of Your Dreams, one person sings quite a bit more than the other.

Wicked has some good duets, so you're good with that choice, and Take me or Leave me is a good song also. I would say go with one of those
