I currently write songs and sing... but i want to accompany myself... i intend to go and teach myself some chords and start learning guitar... i don't want an electric, as it would be a pain.

i want to be mobile, in case I start busking locally.
What sort of guitar should i start using?

(i dont know what quality i am looking for, but i intend to record and perform, but im a total beginner. - 16 year old petite girl. I want a kinda versatile sound but i know nothing about the instrument!)
advice would be lovely! thnks

Hi, I play guitar religiously and would like to start to learn to sight read. I know the notes on the staff/ledger lines, vales, rest, ect, but still I'm just starting. The thing is, I'm almost 30. Do you think this is a waste of time? I am already a proficent guitarist, but I am not really confident with counting rhythms for example. I think at least learning to read rhythms would improve my overall playing. I have plenty of free time (no family). Do you think someone this old could benifit by learning to sight read?

I'm not sure what i want to be when I'm older. I'm in Gifted in Talented at my school so hopefully I'll get a scholarship for college. I'm good at drawing and that kind of stuff like painting and making things but it seems boring sometimes. I'm also good at playing instruments I play flute and when my friends or family teach me how to play an instrument (like the piano) i catch on to it quickly. i also love to dance but i dont take any dance lessons and im not good at it. i also dream of being an actor but im not even sure if im good at it. I also love to solve mysteries. what should i be when I'm older???

Singing is something that I just love to do. It is a big and I mean a huge chunk of my life. If I think back to it when ever I am mad at my parents I go into my room and just start singing songs. When I am in the shower I play my mixed itunes Cds and I just sing untill the water turns cold. Songs help me exspress my emotions and say things that have been on my mind that I just didnt know how to say. Singing makes me happy and I think god knows thats my soft spot. There are so many songs to exspress how I feel. From Jack Johnson to Ciara it seems like theres always a song to exsplain whats going on in my life. When I find a song I like I listen to it once and the second go I have the lyrics memorized. I really want to improve my singing skill with vocal instruction. I am already in vocal at my school but I want to get one on one lessons. If any one has any ideas on vocal instruction in Saint Louis MO or ways that I can improve by myself in general please answer this question. Thanks =D

I'm 13 and I'm a singer/actress. My dream is for broadway and I would really think getting an agent is necessary. The problem is, I have no idea how to get one. How do you get one? How much does it actually cost? HELP! Thank You [I know I'm really young but I still would like to know, even if I do not get an agent right now. Thank You]

i can play almost all of 100 years on the piano (by five for fighting), except the part that says, 'fifteen, there's still time for you, time to buy and time to choose' or whatever. i practice a lot but i absolutely SUCK at sight reading! i learned to play 100 years by constantly repeating, not actually by the skill of playing piano...actually i suck at piano but i forced myself to do something cool and i was jealous at how good my friend is at piano and i wanted to get better. so my question is how do i get better at sight reading??????? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

My friends and I have been thinking about entering a talent at a local choral workshop. There would be 3 guys. Either 2 Tenors and 1 Bass or 1 Tenor, 1 Baritone, 1 Bass. However, the 2nd Tenor(Baritone) may not be able to go. We were thinking doing the Lion Sleeps Tonight. But if we can't what would be a good duet song for 2 Tenors or 1 Tenor and 1 Bass.

My sister plays the piano so she can teach me to read the sheet music. The problem I am faced with is the fact that I don't know where the notes are at on the fret board! I don't really have anyone to teach me as I live in a rural area with few musicians. Could anyone tell me where I could find a diagram or something to show me the notes on a fret board?

I'm just entering college and I want to pursue a career in music performance. Working with an orchestra would be my most favorite option. I've been playing the trombone for a year and a half. I've also had private lessons the whole time. I've been told I'm just wasting my time with this.

What are some excersizes to help with ear training? I can't afford a class. But I do have all the tools I need at home, my dad plays guitar and bass, so we have guitars, tuners, pitch pipes, tuning forks, &c.
