Please help me choose a good company for speakers to put my entire band's sound through. Please compare the prices, quality, and ease of use. I'm thinking two speakers (left and right) that can produce stereo sound.

My band has a mixer, a PA, and an amp for each guitar and bass. I figured it might be easier for both recording and live performances if we sold all of our crap and bought 2 Marshall stacks and used the extra money to get a nicer mixer, that way we could mix all of our sound through the mixer and just plug the mixer into the stacks. My questions are: are there any reasons that this would be a bad idea? Can you get a stereo/PAN sound with just two Marshall stacks? And if this is all so, then what exact cabinet model(s) do I get?

I'm left-handed and I'm not sure about what I need to buy, besides a guitar (duh). I've seen those beginner packs but not any for left-handed people.. so could someone provide me with a list of equipment I need to start playing? Some recommendations for each would be cool too.

I'm learning guitar and I only know a couple of chords, but how do I strengthen my fingers, and toughen my fingertips up? Any tips are helpful. I heard from someone (can't remember who) to put rubbing alcohol on my fingertips after playing and it can help a little, but it doesn't seem to help that much. Other than just keep playing (which I'm doing) anything I can do?

Hey, I've started playing the accoustic guitar. I'm trying to learn myself. I tried out the First Act beginner guitar book and now I know the basics. What are some books that will teach me what I need to know next, that are not intermediate, but are not total beginner? And where could I get them? And also, any more advice on playing the guitar that you think would be useful is appreciated--thanks

I'm trying to read a music score written for b flat clarinet. Normally I read piano music. When I see on the clarinet score what appears to me to be the note "C" (one octave above middle C), what should I play on the clarinet... a note which corresponds to a piano "C" or a note that corresponds to a piano b flat, or something else? Thanks

I have a problem with strumming... When i hold the pick the proper way (the pick between thumb and curled index), and strum up, the pick hits the high E string much harder than it hits the other strings, causing the chord to sound horrible. I have tried using less force but it doesnt seem to work. Any suggestions?

I played violin for 3 years, guitar 1 year, started piano since 6.
I recently stopped violin, and signed up for Percussion and winds but don't know which intrument to play. I'd like to play xylophone if they have it, if not then the DRUMS. BUT, drums r like 500 bucks.. and too big for my house... What intrument should i play if they don't have xylophone?

I really love to sing and I can darn sing. I want to become a singer. I want it so desperately that when I'm out in public I tend to sing aloud hoping someone could give me a record deal. I love Paula DeAnda and I wish I could be just like her and she performed for Clive Davis.

i live in central california, and i can't seem to find any smaller-rostered record labels that will sign an acoustic-alt/indie musician. i'm finding that the more popular labels do not accept demo cds unless they are distributed by a smaller record label. if there are any labels in california you have heard of, that will accept demo cds... where are they, what is the name of the label(s)?? i'm having the time from hell trying to get signed by ANYBODY because i can't find ONE FREAKING LABEL. this sucks.
just thought i'd ask.
any answer would be appreciated.
:) thanks.

A friend's mother approached me one day and asked me if I could recommend some beginner piano books for her son. Usually I wouldn't hesitate giving out titles, but this little boy has Down Syndrom and I was wondering if there's perhaps a special book out there that would be a better fit for him? Thanks

...A nose flute is a kid's toy, a kind of very worthless, mickey-mouse thing, and it can be very funny. It is a small piece of plastic, sort of circular in shape, and makes a sound like a whistle. It is played by holding it against your nose and mouth - your mouth acts as a resonator, but you breath through your nose.
...I have accompanied myself with guitar, and I admit it is hard to keep from laughing.
...There are several nose flute accessories and extras one can buy:
*--marching attachments (aka rubber bands)
*--hard shell case (aka empty large paper clip box)
*--gig bag (aka pencil case)
*--nose flute kit (called the Amazing Nose Flute - includes the nose flute, a small booklet, song cards, and a music holder)
*--a CD called "Mama Don't Allow No Nose Flute Playin' Around Here" - available on Amazon.com
...If you Google nose flutes, you will find several sites, that include purchasing places and also the history of the nose flute.
...Are they any nose floutists there?
