It shouldn't matter what I think, it should only matter what you think, it has to feel, sound, and have the action that your looking for. What sounds good to one person may not sound good to another. I've heard Fenders that sounded great, and I've heard a lot of others that sound good too, such as Yamaha, Taylor, Ovation, and Gibson just to name a few. I play classical my self and I just recently bought an acoustic that I love, it's a Yamaha, they come acoustic or acoustic cut away electric and their were two in the store that I really liked. For the price they had a very nice sound. You have to play them to find the one that is right for you, no one can tell you what's best for your hand and ear, you have to decide that for yourself. I usually don't go for brand, I go for the sound and feel. Now if I was going for a $5,000.00 guitar I would definitely look at a Ramirez, they have a sound that is unbelievable, as for the feel I'd have to try them out as I have never had the pleasure of holding one, I only wish !!!

Since you're asking about a Fender acoustic, I assume you're looking in the $300-$800 range or thereabouts, ie, not thousands of dollars. The quality of all less expensive acoustics has gotten much better over the last 15 years or so. But why a Fender acoustic? They make very fine electrics, but that's really what they do. FMIC has, however, recently taken over the manufacture and distribution of Guild guitars. Acoustics are what Guild has always done. So, if you like Fender, try one of the new Guilds. There's also Washburn, Alvarez, Ibanez and Takamine, to name a few I think you'd be happier with. Good luck.

I haven't played one I like yet. I prefer the Yamaha, Taylor, Alvarez, Takamine, Ovation Adamas, Rainsong graphite guitars, Gibson, Martin, there are so many great guitars to choose from. I really haven't played a Fender Acoustic thta I was enthusiastic about though.
