The harmonics performed in the 12th fret, the seventh fret, and the fifth fret are the easiest to play by lightly placing the edge of your little finger across the strings you wish to pluck. But you must quickly remove the finger as you pluck each string.

Playing harmonics using the 12-fret intervals are a bit more difficult. Using my thumbpick I will pick the string desired, but will place the tip of my forefinger in front of the thumbpick. The trick is to pluck with the pick and touch the string with the forefinger simultaneously, quickly and away.

Practice with A major in the fifth fret (like an F chord). Pluck the lowest note on the 19th fret, the next note in the 18th fret, and the bottom notes in the 17th fret, using either your forefinger or middle finger just in front of your pick.

You should notice that in each position you pluck a string, it is exactly 12 frets away from your left chord formation. The higher your left hand travels up the fretboard, the higher your simultaneous plucking will be. For example, getting the C chord in the eighth fret will require simultaneous plucking part way over the soundhole.

I hope this has been informative and explanatory.

If you can do it occasionally, you know how to do it, and only need practice. I know that's a sucky answer, but it's true...do it a few hundred times, and you will nail it more and more, until you've made those strings your b***h.
