My acoustic guitar is from the '70s. It does not have a strap. Is there a strap that I can get that attaches to it? Or do I have to break down and get a new one?

What would a maid where in Romeo and Juliet's time?
It is for an english project. I have to dress up and I'm trying to put together a costume. Pictures are great, but descriptions are fine too. Think Fifteenth/Sixteenth century. Thanks!

What bass amp do you recommend for me? I just play at small things with my band (drummer, guitarist/singer) like at talent shows and other small "gigs". What bass guitar amp do you recommend with great sound and at least 90 watts (unless you have a better i idea of how many watts I need, tell me) and cost at the most, $300.00? Thanks!

In a week I'm doing this thing with 5 of my friends to raise money for charity. We're going to be singing (more like shouting!) Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody!!! Argh!!! I really want to do it because it'll be really funny (we're gonna have fake guitars, wigs, a dance routine and everything!) but I'm really scared because we're doing it in front of 200 people! I'm looking foward to it but I just can't bring myself to make myself loo like a looney in front of 200 people. Help!?

I'm self-taught, been playing for 20+ years, but have NEVER had good vibrato. Really think it detracts from my soloing style.

I play bass, piano, and guitar and none of my friends even know what a bass is. I want to see about how many people know. Jut say yes or no and post your definition, or what the difference is between a bass guitar and guitar.

I need to buy a full set of acoustic strings for my Washburn. This is the first time I have ever needed to buy them (as I am pretty new to the guitar scene). Do I need to look for anything special or can I just walk in to a music store and grab a set of strings? Also roughly, about how much do they run in price? Thanks in advance!

I am 15 years old, and I have been playing guitar since I was 9. I consider myself very competent on the instrument, and love instructing friends and such. My teacher told me he has been formally teaching since he was 16... is it possible nowadays for me to teach locally to make a little money? I was thinking beginner-intermediate guitar, since I am no expert. How much could I charge per lesson? How would I publicize?

Any other singers experinced it?

About 3 weeks ago I practiced consistantly for the first time ever. I over did it by doing 1 1/2- 2 hours a day for nearly two weeks straight (but I did improve). I gave my voice a weeks rest because my vocal cords were very swollen. I tried back at it again for meybe 20 minutes and they immediantlly became swollen again (not nealy as much as the first time). Its been a few days since my second time strainging. The are only very slightly swollen, I barely feel it most of the time. But when I practice my three octave range, I can only sing a little over the first octave succesfully and my control is gone.

Assemble a guitarist with parts of other guitarists a la Dr. Frankenstein.

For example, James Hetfield's right hand, BB Kings vibrato, Steve Vai's experimentation and Stanley Clarke's ambidexterity.

darling please don't live in the past...

childhood experience in a rich woman's fantasyland of toys, to a discussion of the way in which playing with toys is the first expression of abstraction and imagination (though Baudelaire excludes from this those children who 'merely' recreate adult situations - and here there is a certain misogyny in evidence in his scorn for female children playing at childish women - and also excludes 'men-children' who collect, rather than play with, their toys - a problematic argument, to my mind, since this might be read as a symptom either of anxiety or of possessiveness, but not, certainly, as a lack of creativity). But the ultimate desire of a child is to see the soul of a toy, and for this reason, at some time or another, the child breaks the toy. Just as playing marks the beginning of abstraction and imagination, so the failure to find the soul gives the first sensation of stupor and melancholy. http://www.oztion.com.au/myauctions/shantigifts.aspx

I'm a folk fingerpicking style guitar player who uses a lot of alternate tunings. Recently, I've started to assemble a band, and I like the idea of getting a more electric sound (I currently use an acoustic/electric). I've got a Fender Tele that was nice when I was playing in rock bands, but it seriously cannot handle my lower tunings (I go as low as drop-C) when I fingerpick.

Are there any electric guitars (hollowbodies, maybe?) that might be suitable for my kind of playing?
