An author wasn't appreciated for saying this but, (she) had claimed that her characters spoke through her, that for her they were almost alive, and she wrote for them. I feel the same way but this is not a popular belief.
Thanx.

Ive read all the Anita Blake books and all the Merry Gentry series too. So I know her style pretty well. So then my husband asks me what Im reading and I tell him and he says "You might like Harry Dresden then" and he introduces me to the Harry Dresden series, which are great

Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden is similar to the Anita Blake books. It's almost like I cant put my finger on it how they are similar. Sort of a similar style of dialog. I find they often use the same exclamations and phrases. For example, when in big trouble both Anita and Harry use the phrase "*** deep in alligators" they both describe and think of guns as 'toys' and there are often guns given as gifts.

I read up on it and I guess LKH gave JB a hand up when he was a struggling writer, after they met at a fan fest. But how many other writers must she have met? Probably lots.. does this seem likely?

Could they be the same person? Thoughts?

I bought my son Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy for his birthday. It had great reviews and was highly recommended for a 6th grade reading level by the Yahoo Answers community. Now I'm kind of second guessing my decision because of a review I read. It said that the books follow an Anti-Christian theme that concludes with the children killing God. Below is a link to the article. Are these allegations true?

I already asked this question but it didn't give me the answers I wanted. I would like the play's name, the # of act and what scene it is. Thank you. I have to teach this class tomorrow. I've decided I might want to do a "would you rather" type of game with my class in order to teach them scary Shakespeare moments in his plays. Scenes like the skull and Hamlet, witches from M play. Things like that.
