I just read pride and prejudice and reeeeally liked it. But I have a question - I thought that Mr. Darcy was the "pride" and Lizzy was the "prejudice" but I read somewhere that it was the other way around. can somebody please tell me which one is right and explain???

I was walking home from school today and I was walking by the mall and I saw this one group of kids smoking and they were acting like they were stoned and like they were all that, and in another area I saw a group of shy-looking kids who looked nicer and cooler, then I went in the mall and saw a group of girls who were really glamorous and in style with clothes and trendy . I got an idea to make a book with characters like those, but I have no plot or moral for the story. Any ideas? I am open to ANYTHING at all.

the air is like ice and the trees are bare,
my heart is frozen yet it can still care.
my eyes are emotionless but there is still sight.
my smile is rare but it still shines in the night.
then the sun rises and the spring appears.

when i am around you i find it hard to swallow.
now the sun is warm and so is my soul.

I read this book in the late sixties early seventies.
All I remember is the bear is orphand when its mum is killed, it then has to find its own way, as it gets older it is the biggest bear in the woods and leaves his mark by scratching a tree as high as he can.Older still he goes for daily dips in a sulphur spring to ease his aches and pains, then a clever young bear comes to his patch and with the aid of a stump? scratches higher than the old bear.
When the old bear sees the scratch marks he thinks there is a new and more powerful bear so he goes off to die.
If anyone knows the Title/author I would be really grateful.
