Can you give me a summary on the book or a little about every chapter?

I put two links below, one to amazon (with synopsis and reviews) and one to the Wikipedia page about the novel.

I love this book, but I have to say that I didn't love it the first time I read it, in 8th grade. It made me mad, and I didn't know why, so I just didn't like the book. When I read it again about eight years later, I thought it was moving and powerful. I just hadn't been ready to deal with the issues raised when I was in middle school. So if you do decide to read it, really think about what it says. It's a very important work.

It's about a black family in the Depression and thyeir struggle with discrimination. It's a simple book to read and a very good one. Instead of looking for shortcuts, why not try reading some of it?? It's a book recommended for grades 4 - 7 so it isnt that tough.
