My personal favouurites are as follows -
Jilly Cooper for fun and frolics and laughter with a great story line and some slushy romance in places that you can imagine
Martina Cole - gritty and thought provoking - quite dark but fabulous stories
Quentin Jardine - The OZ Blackstock series - brilliantly fast paced with twists and turns and a lovable main character
Quentin Jardine - The Bob Skinner series - great writing about the Police and some seriously intrricate plots
Manda Sue Heller - Brilliant narrative - again a bit like Martina Cole
For a good old fashioned girlie read Catherine Alliot, Freya North, Fiona Walker, Jane Gree.
Have a fantastic time and enjoy your read!!

You're going on a hen night to Barcelona and you want to read a book! Girl, you need to go visit the night life in that fabulous city and forget about reading. Enjoy. BUT if you really need to read a book I love the shopaholic book range by Sophie Kinsella they're very very funny.

I used to live in Barcelona and trust me you probably won't have time to read anything. If you've never been to the city before go around, it's got lovely bars and restaurants and art and architecture.
But if you need to read something I would suggest the following: -
This Book will save your life by AM Holmes
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
The War of Don Emmanuels Nether Parts by Louis de Bernieres
The curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon
Highfidelity by Nick Hornby
Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
But it's really up to you. If you really need to get hold of something to read while you're in Barcelona I would recommend a shop called Fnac which is in Placa Catalunya (right in the centre of the city) - they sell books in English there and also sell music etc.
Hope this helps. Have fun there!!

You can take some good books which can knowledge you about the place you are going to, you can even take daily news papers so in the mean time you will keep update with the world. You can take any Romantic or good Novels as per your likes.
I feel this depends upon you & your likes, as you know youself the best than anyone else. You can carry some good musics instead of books, as science say reading in a running train, bus or flight may cause dangerous to the eyes.
Anyways enjoy your holidays.

Depends what sort of things you like... Dan Brown's are good, am just reading Deception Point, also read DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons, both excellent. Horror, Dean Koontz, Stephen King. Light reading, try Tesco, they have a good selection of "chick reads" and are usually reasonably priced! Or wait until you get to the airport, Smiths are usually airside, and have 3 for 2 offers etc.....Hey though, you are on a hen weekend... bet you don't get it opened...lol Have a great time!

This would entirely depend on your favourite Genre. Murder mysteries? I'd suggest an Agatha Christie or a Dorothy Sayers.
Good fun? Harry Potter or the Narnia books. No they are not just for kids. They are also easy enough to read quickly.
I don't think you'll be doing a lot of reading but one thing I do not suggest you read is anything at all to do with the wedding. You're out there to have fun. Not to worry about the details.

Daughter of the Forest!!!! This is the best book ever! and there are sequels that you can read later that are just as great. I have been passing this book around since i was a freshman in High School and I'm now a senior in College. I have yet to meet someone who hasn't liked this book. I have co-workers reading it right now. I'll warn you the first 20 pages a a little bland but after that you will read it non-stop.

well it really depends on what genres interest you.
i, personally, would end up with a psychological thriller, or one of Iain Banks' books. Iain Banks is, of course, a personal favourite of mine.
Philip Pullman's novels also ave achieved particularly high reccommendations from all the relatively important people. they also contain clever writing techniques, which communicate messages of religion, and a variety of other social issues.
if you tend to read crime books, i would reccommend Jonathon Nasaw's "Fear Itself". it differentiates from other crime novels in the killer not being hidden at all from the reader. the prose meets a high standard also.
if you wish to relax without any difficult cognitive processes when reading, i suggest you take a book you hav already readand throrougly enjoyed, that way you're reading something you wont get bored of, and it's not too much hard work.
also something by Jackie Collins, if you're looking for something a little ... steamier.it's quite sexually expilcit and so would be something you could share with your friends at the hen weekend.
try also learning some spanish. would be interesting, though not quite as relaxing, it would enhance your holiday, allowing you to experience Barcelona to a fuller extent.
enjoy your holiday, and hope the wedding goes well.
