i like "mother to son":

well, son, i'll tell you:
life for me ain't been no crystal stair.
it's had tacks in it,
and splinters,
and boards torn up,
and places with no carpet on the floor--
bare.
but all the time
i'se been a-climbin' on,
and reachin' landin's,
and turnin' corners,
and somtimes goin' in the dark
where there ain't been no light.
so boy, don't you turn back.
don't you set down on the steps
'cause you find it's kinder hard.
don't you fall now--for i'se still goin', honey,
i'se still climbin',
and life for me ain't been no crystal stair.

Rock star named David Angel is a major factor.
Older sister reads little sisters journal/diary.
I believe it won an award of some kind. I believe I saw a medallion on the book jacket.
Probably written after 1990 and definately before 2000.
I believe it's considered a young adult book.
Reason I remember the name David Angel as the rock star because there is a passage in it about how the name "Frank Langella" reminds the sister of the David Angel mention in her sisters diary.
The book jacket may have had a picture of the moon or a candle or both and the picture may have something to do with the title of the book.

When you're sad and you have nothing to do, friends are always there for you,
They help you out when you feel low,
They stay even if they have to go,
They lend you a hand and pull you through,
yes friends are always there for you.

A little girl sits in a car,
Her friends all wave, they're not that far,
A tear falls down her cheek,
Her parents say its only a week.
But judging by the luggage sack,
she doubts if she'll ever be back.

We
If i were yours and you were mine do you think we would talk in rhyme
Your thoughts and feelings hopes and fears would be mine to keep for all the years
We would be true to you and me ,from now until eternity
Blessed be our every breathe,
As one we stand against the rest
So cuddle up to me at night
Let our love glow and shine through the darkest night.

Its called Free will
Capture heart in a photograph,
Capture promise in an evening tonic,
Capture trust in a hug,
Lost for ever is who we are to.... who we are becoming.

This book is about a kid who was promised a puppy but he gets the runt. All I really remember is him walking through a common in London trying to lose the dog andthe dog trying to look back at him? The dog he got wasn't all that his grandfather promised.

This book made me cry as a kid and I would love to find it again.

Maybe by a Phillippa ....

Please help - I really want to find this book!

I once read a book I think it it was called Wive's Tales or something, it had a bunch of stories that I dont think had anything to do with Wives Tales, such as a story about where all the characters were named after candy bars, and another story about how the Author isn't superstitious, but they know if you break a you get 7 years bad luck, and that story cycles through other superstions, saying the same thing. The book has alot of stories with sexual innuendos, potty humor, such as a story about a judge telling a women to approch the bench, and the jury saying approch the *biYch, I read this book, well not really read skimed through, this book a long time ago, and I don't remember the exact name, or the humorius candy bar story. So if anyone can help me find this book, i will be indebted to you, and give you 10 points
