I've just gotten into them recently, because everywhere I go is such a long time to spend in the car. I never saw the point to them before, figured if I wanted to read something I'd just read it, but this is turning out to be something I really enjoy! What do you think?

What are some good but relatively unknown female authors I might enjoy?

I have read a lot of the classics but I am looking for contemporary fiction. I enjoyed The Dirty Girls Social Club by Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez and I'm reading Bollywood Confidential by Sonia Singh. I'm trying to put together a book list with authors from a variety of ethnic groups. Can you recommend any other good reads?

Does this make any sense?

Okay, so I've tested this out in the forum where people who are aflicted with this actually are (because they wanted to see it, and I'm a nice person. I accepted their critque on it.)

So the basis for my story is this (it's a high fantasy setting): There's a world where magic can be used, but only by a select few. The consequence for using the magic comes at a price: They get CH. The mages themselves only know of their mentors when they are learning how to use magic, and know of no other mages. There is a creature that they remind themselves of, and which follows them, known as "The beast" or the "The black dog", it's shadows tends to frequent heir vision for days after they've used their magical powers.

Can someone give me a brief summary in the book The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

This is my first time reading this book. My mom told me she once saw the movie. That didn't really help. All I know about this book is that it was written in like the 1850's or something close to that.

What's the best way to cut out the parts that I like, but that don't really have any meaning to a stroy?

I've had this problem a lot. The small bits of writing that kind of wedge their way into the story and then can never be found again. They hang around in the backgrund and drag the story down with them. I have no idea how to find these on my own, because I know there are a few I've missed in editing (by myself and with others- people who've edited writing for thirty plus years). I've read through the manuscript countless times looking for errors, which is why I looked for new views on the thing.

But there still seems to be something off, something I didn't eliminate the first two dozzen times around. Does anone know how to find something like that? I think it's only there because I'm mentally attahched to it, so I try to find other things that seem wrong/out of place.
