I have a really harsh English teacher and I need some opinions. We were given an open ended fiction assignment. We must show emotion and originality. How is this for a start?

Searching is something that most find annoying. It is an act that complicates and plaques the mind much like the unexplained presence of a smell, or the phantom brush of skin. Often times, we ourselves simply create the absence of what it is that we are searching for. This however, was not the case for Elizabeth Reiley. The entire time that Liz searched she had faith that she would find what it was she was looking for. It had been there before, and it would be there again. Whether it be nestled in the corner of a warm glowing room or teetering on the edge of an unforgiving ravine Liz would find what she was looking for, and she simply knew it. Liz knew that there was beauty left somewhere in the world. She merely needed to determine where it went, and why.

I want to buy a pad of "nice" paper for someone that is getting back into drawing portraits after a 40 year sabbatical.

This is all I know....they use pencil (a combination of hard for the rough outline, and soft ones for shading)...and they like to do them sort of large - thats all I was able to get out of him details wise {he mentioned that he was thinking about getting back into it while he is recovering from cancer - he hasn't done it since he was in highschool} - anyhow.....

I bought 14x17 inch 90 pound Medium tooth paper in "classic cream" (which if you ask me, looked very much like the white - but I'm no expert on the topic, ha ha)

Is this suitable for this application? or do you have another suggestion?

I was going to pair it with a picture frame and matt as a Xmas gift for someone who is literally impossible to shop for....

Thanks everyone - all input greatly appreciated.

from the photo? For example: imagine I want to paint a cougar and look at photos (taken by others) to help me depict that animal in a realistic way. Let's say I draw a cougar in the same pose as in a photo, but change the landscape...would this be a copyright infringement? What other changes would be necessary to make sure that I would not infringe ( for example, change the animal's pose, add another animal or change the lighting, etc.)? I totally respect wildlife photographers and appreciate what they have to do to get those photos, and I do not want to take advantage of them.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. (Links to websites as well)

Is a sunshield sufficient enough to use as a reflector?

I'm not a professional so I'm not looking for anything fancy. I need something inexpensive that will work, seeing as I don't have a job besides my occasional photoshoots.

Here's a look at my work so you can see where I'm at:

The events of WWI brought about the fall of five empires and ushered in a fundamental change in the world order. Name the five empires and explain the shift also contributed to the rise of new superpowers.
