DENIAL OF THE HOLOCAUST

ABC has just asked: do we have 'tangible evidence' of the Holocaust?

So my invitation is this: if ABC would like, I will arrange for him to speak with, or email with, a relative of mine who was himself in Auschwitz and who lost his entire family there.

Would ABC like to accept?

I'm not sure why he feels that the MOUNTAINS of 'tangible' evidence that we already have is not sufficient but there you go. My offer stands.

Hi
I really need some help about Plato views on womens ability to love. I am strugling to find examples except for the symposium, and I am lacking much of an argument to say they did have the ability! I also finding hard to understand how the framework in which plato writes affects his views and whether the views expressed is a failure on plato/socrates' fault to actualy find true love........
I have done lots of reading of journals and books, but still seem to be coming up against a brick wall so any help would be great!
Thank you in advance!
Katie

How are death tolls in the Holocaust estimated? How acurate are these estimates? Why do some people doubt the validity of the figures? I read somewhere that the actual number of deaths was much lower than six million. Do the esitmates include only victims of the gas chamber? Experiments? Executions? etc.

My Grandmother just sent me a narwhal tusk walking cane that has been in my family for years. I am trying to find a way to value it (US standards) for insurance purposes. With the US laws on importing ivory, I'm not sure what I can and can't do.

*****
The Dream's Slave

Dream devil
Delighter
Night owl, swallow
Child frightener
Form, at the window

On with the light
Nighttime brightener
I fear, not you
Fool of the mist
My fist, ever tight for you

I'm awake, and through…
You, must abate from view
Take away your tools
And your opaque rules
Violation pools

Not sure where to post this one...

I'm an English teacher in France and working on Northern Ireland with my students, and more specifically murals in Northern Ireland.

I've found quite a lot of pictures of murals with 6-pointed stars.

Am I right in thinking it represents the 6 counties of Northern Ireland?
Or am I completely off the point?

in kant's philosophical aspect, how do you act when you act purely from duty? and do you know when you are doing so? not sure, because according to kant, you act on doing something for the duty. you act because it's the right thing to do, not because of the consequence. you do rationalize a lot though. UGH. help.

Is HHGTG simply an adaptation of "The Wizard of Oz?"

I can spot many elements that seem parallel. The "yellow brick road" translates into the startship "Heart of Gold", for example.

The Tin Man morphs into "Marvin the Paranoid Android" (He's not looking for a heart, he just want to get replacements for the diodes down his left side...)

Aurthur dent plays Dorothy's role (just wants to go home)

Trillian is the opposite of the scarecrow. She's got a degree in Astrophysics, but can't find a job. (she was "on the dole" on Earth)

Of course Zaphod also plays the part of the scarecrow. He seeks knowkledge about the true ruler of the galaxy.

Does anyone see any other parallels to OZ?

"Could you send 2 or 3 lines about yourself that we would say before your reading on the evening of February ___?"

I'm reading my poem that won the poetry contest, and I'm not sure how these evenings go (I've never been to one). What would be appropriate to say about myself (someone else is intoducing me)?

Thanks in advance.

and who is the author

I was born with oceans for eyes
and much like a wave it comes
love flowing trapped until it breaks and flows into hate
stirred only by them my precious pearls
it cannot run nor can it hide it has no direction all it can do is flow back into itself
and that's what it does and there it remains an endless vast of blues to teeter on
there's not a big enough life raft to save it
so the waves continue to pound and produce waterfalls over the lips letting you taste the salt of life
there will be no end to this,it will never drain nor can it ever evaporate all you can do is float, ride the waves and keep faith that you won't drown
