Im a shy person so it takes me awhile to loosen up to people. So taking portrait pics of someone you JUST met is difficult for both me and my subject. What are some Good Icebreaking techniques
1) for me to feel more comfortable, take away some of my nervousness???
2) put the subject at ease in front of the camera to get that "natural" feeling in there pose???

I originally wanted to get a major in English Education and a minor in theatre, but I have recently rediscovered my love for theatre. I want to make it my major, but I don't know if I could make a decent living with it.

The reason I wanted an English Education major was because it was something I could fall back on, but now I don't want to bother with it.

I have a natural eye for photography. I have been asked to do some professional work. I am getting ready to make a camera and lens purchase. However, I lack in basic photography terminology and knowledge. An "eye" is great, but I need some education. Terms, lighting, and everything else to boot. lol.

My teacher told me about Humanism, art, and scholarship in 15th century Italy but failed to explain how Humanism helped to shape art and scholarship. Anyone know?

Can anybody give me some excersies that you can do with your subject to loosen them up or make them more comfortabl infront of the camera... Scenario; I was talking pictures (nude) once of a friend of mine and she was relly nervous , I became really nervous as well (hot naked girl), im not a profesinoal, and I became really frustrated because I felt as soon as she took her cloths off she became really tense, i thaught that being the photog it was my responsability to lighten the mood or make her feel comfortable... anyways the pictures turned out horrible, so im wondering what other people do??? I let her take some pics of me, so the camera didnt feel so forieng and we made animal noises, like if you were a barn animal what noise would you make... what are some excersises that you do with your subjects???

Don't Get Aggravated...

If the dinosaur tracks
In the backyard aren't
Deep enough to
Wash the dog in...

First, it has to rain
REAL hard...
Where's your dog?

I just wrote this poem, but have no idea what title to use. Any ideas?

Poem#1

"Would I cry for him, if he were to die?
I think not
It is his fault I am broken
Crushed to a million
Billion
Tiny pieces of glass.
Neveragain to be put back again. {and I know neveragain has a space in the middle, I just wrote it like that 'cos it seems better.}
Broken forever
Forevermore.
Therefore, for you: I'll not mourn
For you I'll not cry
For you I'll not wish to come back to life
You caused naught but pain
Death is wise to welcome you
He is waiting, you know.
Waiting
For
You.

Amen."

So that was my poem. Any ideas? Thanks!

I've had a photoblog for a few months and I know I've had about 10,000 hits or so, but just 2 comments. I know people rarely leave comments on photoblogs (unless maybe they're your friends). Does anyone have an idea where I could post requests for comments for example, by announcing it on a forum or group without seeming pushy? I noticed that the national Magazine "MAXIM'S" has a photoblog and even they rarely get comments.

- For over 50 years since 1949, on the night marking the anniversary of Edgar Allan Poe's birth, a mysterious man-in-black has entered the cemetery where the master of the macabre lies buried, and, making his way through the dark shadows to Poe's grave, he places a partial bottle of expensive French cognac and three blood-red roses there, presumably as tokens of admiration and in tribute to the great author. This ritual completed, he then slips away into the night as quietly and as mysteriously as he came.
- The true meaning of the Poe Toaster's ritual and exactly what message is implied by the items left behind remains unexplained: the meaning of the French cognac is not completely clear as references to cognac did not appear as a prominent feature in Poe's works.

Was Cain innocent by using his god given free will? Forget about telling me you do not believe in the Bible. This is a question of human principle. With or without a god. I use "god" because no one has come up with a better word.
