I want to increase my knowledge, education, intelligence and imagination. I want to do this on my own, if possible. There are two problems with this. First, I have trouble reading because I can't concentrate on what I read. Second, I don't even know where to begin. If you can identify with what I am feeling then please leave some advice. Thanks in advance.

I'm writing an essay on the journey of music from the beginning to ars nova. I have some basics, but If anyone knows anything on ancient music in caves, gregorian chants, some premedieval music, how Plato relates to music and works with intervals, music in mass, strophic, cadence, melisma and the beginnings of operas and musicals, please elaborate, lots of detail!

ALL my friends, including my bf and his friends are into acting and singing. I like to sing, but i am not very good. I think i would like to act too, but am WAYYY too nervous to try. My school has auditions for they play, and they are not manditory if you just want to be in the chorus. well, all my friends are good at acting and i got too nervous, so i didn't stay to try to get a part even if i wanted too. I don't want to be embarassed in front of the people who i care about because i can't act and they can.........what should i do to get over this??...or...any advise in general??????

Find hobbies and routines to get your mind off of the day to day simplicities that can make life feel meaningless.
Have healthy and fulfilling practices that keep you strong and intelligent.
Reinforce or gratify yourself with positive self talks and pampering.
Be empathetic yet selfish, agressive and passive at times.
Never talk down to yourself, be the best u can at all times.
Never take things too seriously, never take others emotions too lightly.
Push your way through ill feelings and replace them with happy feelings.
What's missing?

My fiance is saying he had to give up "acting" because we need the extra money for our wedding. He said he paid $500 to an "agent in L.A.". Please note that we live in Canada, and although a few major movies ARE shot around where we live every year, I am assuming the casting is done using people FROM L.A.

Any local parts would be low paying extra jobs, or casted in larger cities, right?

I believe he was getting scamed, although he insists it is real. He also has no acting experience, and is "average" looking. Boyishly cute and very tall, but no Brad Pitt or GQ Model.

He says he doesn't have the extra money for "acting" now, and has had to give it up. I say us planning this wedding has stopped a scam and done him a favor.

Who's right, and how can I prove it to him if I am? Any agencies that claim that your NEVER should pay for an agent? Or could this be legit?

Philosophy only generates more questions and has never solved anything.A question only brings another question and then you go deeper and that brings you to the beginning again...In my opinion philosophy can't be used at this current era because of our "limit" of knowledge,I'm saying the mind is infinite but we just can't fill it to the rim,you know?We can only reach a limit and until we develop bigger brains we will just ask more questions, some questions aren't even questions because they have no answer although it is a question, like a scissor without the handling part,it'll be just two razors although it's still a scissor because you can still cut.Same with questions,it's missing the answer part although it's still a "scissor".So,what's the point of philosophy?Ask more and leave work uncompleted?
