What the hell? My pets never stay off the couch, or anywhere else they want to be. I sleep with four of them; sometimes, if it's cold, all six. I even had stairs especially built so that when my little dog got arthritis and couldn't jump on the bed any more he could still get up there and then when I got a dachshund who slipped on the stair's hardwood I carpeted them just for him.
And what's up with the fish example? You seem to have a down on animals.
Actually none of the things you mention seem like problems to me, 'cause I would never forget to feed anything, even all the wild creatures I feed every night. Sometimes I have money concerns, the car might break down, worry over children's happiness and their problems; my son had to shoot someone today; everyone has serious to semi serious problems everyday.
One thing with which I never have a problem is sex. Put that in your science project.
Shouldn't you have asked this in social science or polls and surveys?

My cat keeps sneaking onto the couch. He also sneaks into bedrooms and poops in them if he can, though recently he seems to prefer pooping in the bath, which is better.
A lack of the correct size batteries is a problem.
My neighbours are a bigger problem - one guy's dog pooping in my driveway, the other guy's dog in my front garden.
Somebody keeps stealing the badges off my car.
My most pressing worries right now are do I send my child to the horrible school for 2 more days before she goes to a new one, or let her have 2 more days off? And will the school of my choice say yes?

trying to balance being a working mom and wife. It's very hard to keep up the house, be a great mom, have supper cooked and spend time with the hubby in under three hours per day once I get off work.

forgetting stuff is one of the most common...
pet-related issues are also common place---
doing daily chores, doing things that are usually imposed on you by the environment, like going to school or working...
