Hi. I'm in Seussical and I just found out a couple days ago that I got the part of Mayzie. Do you have any advice on how to play her or understand her character? Thanks!

Mandy is right, but also Mayzie is very separated from the rest of the cast so bring a book for when you're not on stage. She's fun for sure, but she's constantly leaving and doesn't get to do the group numbers! Mayzie does not like to admit her own flaws, but at one point she does realize that what's best for her egg is for it to be with Horton.

Mayzie La Bird
self-centered, manipulative, selfish and vain. Her moment of generosity comes when she realizes Horton will be a better mother to her egg.

Congratulations!!!
Marianne

Congrats! She's a fun part to play! She is very self-centered. Mayzie's main song is about herself and how wonderful she is. It's called "Amazing Mayzie." She's like the vetreran lounge singer who will always give you advice while talking about herself. Have so much fun with this part and congrats again!
