I thought i found a guy that actually cared for me
you told me you loved me
thought we were meant to be
since u left me i feel so alone
my life was once complete
but now i feel like a cold piece of meat
i feel used and just left alone
i wonder to my self
why did i take the verbal abuse
why didnt i leave when he called me names
why did i let him play all his games
i still love him more then anything
but sometimes i lay awake
thanking god hes gone
im done crying and wishing i was dying

This is her first poem...I gave her some tips and this is what she came up with :] For a first poem I think it's really good! Any suggestions/tips?

Just curious, in movies that are period pieces in the Old West, does EVERYONE have a western accent, or were some people back then speaking with what is considered a 'neutral' American accent? Perhaps people who were considered "upper class"?

I know, weird question, but any input is appreciated.

does our national anthem "The Star-Spangled Banner" only consist of the first verse of Francis Scott Key's Poem?
Or is it the whole thing and just that the first verse is the most famous and the verse usally sang?

Years ago, I read a classic "travels in America" account by a grumpy / snarky English writer - early 20th or late 19th century. It may well have been Orwell or Dickens. In his account, the author observes the many undefended factories and cities on the U.S. coast, and has a great throwaway line about how the Royal Navy could blow it all to oblivion in 15 minutes. For the life of me, I can't find this reference, and it is driving me crazy. Help!!

...of my newest poem about vampires

The Eternal Night
By: Adam Snow

Tis be the night of darkened desire the Eternal
One watches me from above. Tis be my final hours
of life. The Eternal One plunges her fangs into my
very neck sucking away my very ounce of life. As my
final hours comes to a pause I slowly reach for a razor
I then slowly started to ponder then I woke up
and I realized that I was in a cushioned bed
with no way out. I’m now trapped for
eternal rest.

I'm 17, and I really would like to be a professional photographer once I get out of high school. What do I need to do to start out in this field? I've taken a year of digital photography, and that is what sparked my love for it, but I have no idea what to do next. Any suggestions?

I read it to see what all the fuss was about, and I was greeted with juvenile prose, predictable puzzles, and fairly typical characterizations. It seemed to me like Dan Brown should have skipped the novel part and just written a screenplay...but then the movie was awful as well.

I am helping my sister in law with her geneology project and I am having the hardest time finding any info on their Great Grandmother! I know her name, maiden name, year of birth, date of death, place of death and I have one census from when she was married. There seem to be no records of this woman before she was married. I have searched Ancestry and done a Google search but nothing came up. Where else could I look? I cannot request a copy of any vital records because I do not have enough info. Any ideas of where to look would be appreciated. IM me if you need more info!

i have a question about the matrix idea and solipsism.

first off i know they can never be disproved in an emperical sense because its impossible to prove that reality exists with are senses rendered as "illusion" as posed by the ideas.

yet there are many good arguments out there that pretty much shows that the ideas are known to be self refuting in theory and in logic. they are also known to be irrational.

but when people say they the ideas are "disprovable" do they mean that the ideas are actualy POSSIBLE?? or just disprovable?

in other words they can be SHOWN false, but never PROVEN false due to an emperical technicality, correct?

Perspective of 911

Gasps from my parents did I silently wake,
Came to their room and did quake.
This horror, I thought was some mistake,
“Jump from the building! Surely this is fake.”
Building scorched into flames like steak.

Convinced myself and now awake,

Partake.

Partake of this horror… partake this curse…this nations greatness I will partake.

If both of them were about to die, and you could only save one of them who would you choose?

*If you're a female, let's say it's your sister and a man you don't know.

*You can only choose ONE

*You can't give your life in order to safe both of them

Would you preserve the species or live your last days with your sibling.
