On the surface it will appear to be a simple issue . But it is not.
Over a long period of time and due to the imposition of others` views we , all, register , deep within ourselves , a few standard response norms ... the DOs and the DONTs. These deep rooted factors make us respond to situations positively or negatively. This has nothing to do with any prespective or frequency.Generally , I find , that people who grew up with cautious approach in life ( due to family matters) tend to have a negative approach to anything. As they grow they lower their protection a bit and tend to view things posively . But a good number of others approach anything in life positively.
I belong to this category, fortunately.

I've looked at your question for quite a few moments, getting deeply inside to see if I could determine "why" I am as I am. I've ruled out every possible influence; childhood, environment, "learning" experiences & none of these things affected me at all.
My conclusion is that this is the way I've always been, because it's simply ME.
I truly have no ebbs. I can't even comprehend the choice of viewing anything in a negative way.
Perhaps in looking at the "whole" of things, not judging them just in the moment from one perspective, but the interconnectedness of everything, the balance that creates harmony. That the consequences of what might be considered bad or painful by others, are always justfied in some way.
This isn't to say I have no adversities. Yet the "crest" is insight & even joy. I don't know how else to express this. There is a basic serenity in viewing the scales as equally balanced. Apparent dualities as positivism.

Your learned ego beliefs are the cause of misperceiving the world in a dualistic good/bad way.
Are there many themes? Only in the beginning, while you're still insane. This is not flow. You are describing the conflicted frequency static of the ego's programmed belief system.
Stop listening to the static and stabilize "being." Remember who you are; what you are deadly serious about causes reality to shift. Why would you trade that kind of power for floating through life feeling/noticing your ego's fluctuating wave function?

Throughout our lives, we accumulate "information", that stays in our brains and when needed helps us "make these judgments".
Since we're all different, and we all have different viewpoints (and I mean this literally) towards certain things, we all have a different kind of information about these things. E.g: You may have a different point of view of a tree from your house, and your neighbor might view the same tree from a different angle. Thus, with all the lightning and stuff, to you it may appear beautiful, and to your neighbor might appear ugly.
I can say the same about experiences; If you have had a bad experience with clowns when you were little, you would view them as negative, as opposed to someone who didn't have that experience and might view them as positive.
All this, information stuck on your brain unconsciously, and previous experience, coalesce to produce a feedback for every outside element.
Needless to say, since all this "information" and experiences are unique for each person, each person has a unique reaction towards every outside element.

Whether they contribute to human happiness, mostly. After that, whether they contribute to the happiness of those I care for (which makes me happy). And me. I don't have cycles now, although I used to when I was young, and I still have ebbs and flows listening to the news or watching it on TV. But I learned years ago that one can have several responses simultaneously, and largely choose which to put your money on - when to act, and when to pass.
