PUCK
Through the forest have I gone.
But Athenian found I none,
On whose eyes I might approve
This flower's force in stirring love.
Night and silence.--Who is here?
Weeds of Athens he doth wear:
This is he, my master said,
Despised the Athenian maid;
And here the maiden, sleeping sound,
On the dank and dirty ground.
Pretty soul! she durst not lie
Near this lack-love, this kill-courtesy.
Churl, upon thy eyes I throw
All the power this charm doth owe.
When thou wakest, let love forbid
Sleep his seat on thy eyelid:
So awake when I am gone;
For I must now to Oberon.

Also, this may offend, if it does, I apologize, it is not meant to.
This is something I see around me often and it saddens me, and leaves me feeling directionless about my own responsibility as a woman...

Gradually,
they settle into
the narrow path
of normalcy,
trading sharp
eccentricities
for smooth plastic smiles.

Maybe once
they burned bras
and men
with the fire of
equality in their eyes...
maybe once
their dreams,
now run through by
a child’s cry
or the groaning
mattress of mediocre,
routinized, sexless,
copulation,
lived as something
separate from them,
to be followed,
not cropped and manipulated
like vacation photos,
in a box,
under the bed,
waiting
to be forever preserved
between the sticky pages
of an album,
small, frozen
images of an ideal
not representations of reality.

And why do you believe this person is the most influential? It can be man or woman and from anywhere in the world.

Where exactly is Valinor located? Is it possible for a human to stumble upon it and return to tell the tale? I seem to remember that it was far to the west of Middle Earth and that mortals would get lost in some giant ocean, but if they managed to find there way like a lost sailor or something they would die at the mere sight of it? Thanks.

Do you believe that's true, that power corrupts?
arrogance of power?
I need to write a four min. speech, and I have no idea how to start it...WHat should I include? How do I make this speech strong enough for my Academic Decathlon competition..
Thanks for your time.

I want to know what do guys think.
I only say what I am assuming they think.
Beauty for me is my worst quality because it does not allow an individual to see things from a realistic point-of-view.
I think that I am funny, but sometimes I piss people off and I regret it later.
I am attracted to all the wrong guys and I never met a nice guy that holds my interest for more than a day.
Nice guys just seem all wrong; what's wrong with me?

Hi, I would like to know a little more about the beach landings of D-Day. Please excuse me if I have any of my facts wrong. I know there were many beaches assaulted, by troops of the US, UK and Commonwealth, but would like to know, how long did the actual action on a beach last for, on average, from the moment of the first man's boots hitting the sand until the final german soldier threw up his hands? Minutes? Hours? Days?

Thanks!

Do you think this would make a better movie or T.V. series? And who would you cast in the roles? I can't decide except I think Danny DeVito would make a good Vinnie.

I've been writing poetry for some time now but have had no choice but to conform to the standards of today; that is, write poems that do not ryhme, but are instead flash fiction chopped up. Nobody wants to publish ryhming poems...

I read it a long time ago - and I really enjoyed it. I'd like for my 12 year old to read it (she reads at an 11th grade level) - but I can't remember if it was inappropriate for her age group or not. It's hard to tell with books - as they don't rate them like movies. We've just started to let her watch PG 13 movies (as she's a year ahead in school - and hangs out with mostly 13 year olds). Any info you could share would be very helpful!
