"Why not, my friend?", asked I (asked, not said)
"Because you need to waste more time (need, not have)
Your skills need not apply."
"What should I do instead?" asked I (asked, not said)
"Just surf the internet?" (add "just" to correct the meter)
"Shall I go and have a chat
and flirt with that brunette?" (yes, you're right, much better)
I could find a strip club (use "find")
and watch the flirty dancers (drop the "?")
Or sit down at my new PC
and read some Yahoo Answers. (minor edit here)

I commented on the other that I liked it, and just wanted to add that you should consider posting it to your company newsletter if you wouldn't get in trouble for writing it on work time.
