I've been writing the outline for a story I am going to start writing soon. It's about vampires, and I already have everything set up. The character's, their personalities, and the plot, but I still haven't come up with a good setting. I was going to make it in Seattle, Washington because it's almost always raining there, a good place for vampires to be (since they can't go in the sun. ((Atleast in my story.)) ) But, I just recently finished reading the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer...and her story takes place in Seattle...so I don't want it to look like I'm copying or anything...so, if anyone has any better ideas for a setting, let me know. It would be much appreciated. (:

Basically, the girl I like never quite saw how much potential we had, and now she's going out with another guy. I can't help but think if any of the stuff we ever did meant much of anything at all to her. The poems are too big to fit here, so here's the links, please take the time to read them.

Once again, I'm sitting here
Tapping on the keys
I've put the chicken in the pan
Mixed veg? Or will it be peas?

A glass of wine or maybe two
Who knows, let's wait and see
It's dinner time in my house
Boring, or is it just me?

The mirror of the my artist's soul- chips.

When such cracks bubble over with the requiem that silently becomes the hearts blood,

That blood transcends into tears and thoughts unshed, and one can only observe that the sweep of the sun brings relief,

the nightingale's song- tangled content,

and the resonance of man- troubling.

the one with sewn lips

whose only defense is a pencil in her teeth and the boundless paper in her hands, she strikes

the dirge of the romantic's soul.

murdered beyond the door
my mothers breath was heard no more
i heard my father trembled in tears
now all i had was memories

my father cryed beyond the door
as i hear the click of the guns chrigger
now all i could was sit there
and feel my father die

then the door opens
it was my father being pushed through in torture
a shadow came towards him
and shot my father in the head

i was terrifed, i had to run
but i was in a corner
the shadow was approaching me
and there i screamed in horror

the shadow became two and three
and then three guns faced me
then my once normal life became death
on the summer of july.

I've recently learned to play guitar. My brother in law knows a few bass runs. My question: How do I play/jam with him? How do I know what to play (what key, chords) while watching what he's doing?
We both sound pretty good alone, but we don't know how to sound good together. Not much of a theory guy, but if that's the way it must be...:-(

Here's hoping someone would know what I'm talking about.
I'm looking for some children's books, but I do not remember the author or the name of the books. Here's what I know:-
-I read them some time in the 80s.
-They were a detective series, with a girl and a boy (with glasses, I think) that solves random little mysteries.
-For each mystery, the reader can guess along with the main characters as well, by finding clues in the story and usually a drawing they have of the crime scene and/or some important clue.
-Then the conclusion of the mystery is written bacwards, which you can read via the use of a mirror.
-One particular mystery as I remember concerns a runner in a marathon/race. One of the vital clues was an illustration of the runner - which if you looked closely, had running shoes with three stripes instead of the supposed two. Somehow that meant that it was a different runner or something, which solves the mystery.

So, anyone have ANY ideas on the name and author?
