A novel is a type of book. A book may be many things - fiction, non fiction (biography, textbook, etc). Within fiction, you can have graphic novels, short story collections, and novels.

A Novel is a book of fiction or you can say a story. But a book may be text book and or a book of pictures or any thing. A novel may book but all books are not novels

I think a book is basically anything with words longer than a magazine. A novel is a work of fiction.
