Me

I awoke one morning with a thought in my head. It said “me make story now”. So I went to my computer still rubbing the sleep from my eyes, sat, and mumbled “ok - me make story now”.

My hands hovered above the keyboard but nothing came. I looked at my hands suspiciously one at a time – the left and then the right. There was hair on my knuckles.

I willed the hands to move – but still no words came. I looked at them furrowing my brow and said to them “ME MAKE STORY NOW!” The cat ran from her spot in my study’s closet for the doorway. I told the cat “you better run cat.”

Then I started:

“Once there was a yellow and white cat who
wasn’t quite fast enough. She lived in a white
house and slept in an upstairs closet…”

I was going to suggest Fictionpress.com, too, but someone beat me to it. It really does have tons of good stuff. It's all original work but people ages 13 and up, and you can find the good stuff if you look hard enough and in the right places. For example, if you go to http://www.fictionpress.com/c2d/0/ this is basically like a magazine of good work. If you pick the genre you want, and specify the "magazine" otherwise known as C2, you want by clicking on the selection that says "sort by: subscriber count" you'll find some really good stuff. That's just the easiest way, though, another way would be to look for a story that has a lot of reviews. If you're interested in fanfiction at all, fanfiction.net is a good place to go. Good luck and have fun.
