Who is your favorite Kurt Vonnegut Jr. character and why?

P.S. Sadly, just trying to counteract some of the HP questions with something a little more substantial/cerebral…

Carbon Dating..."a chemical analysis used to determine the age of organic materials based on their content of the radioisotope carbon-14; believed to be reliable up to 40,000 years"

Heres my question.... This is the literal definition... I've gotten my teachers to admit that Carbon dating is reliable at all once it gets to be so old....

From that hypothesis that the older something is, the less accurate this method of dating, then how can people say that the Earth is billions of billions of years old?

To Awaken

How can I express what’s in my heart to you
Show you the abundant love inside
What miracle can beseech my soul to you
To unleash the kindred spirit inside

How do I shed this loneliness shroud I wear
And awaken from countless eons of despair
What miracle will bring your love to me
To lift this soul with care

How do I awaken from this slumber
The hellish nightmare of empty days
What miracle will usher the moments
To bond this love for all days

How so often I do dream of you
Embracing the love that hides
What miracle your love has brought to me
To awaken and know your love is mine

I've seen where you can buy a clear liquid acrylic that will dry clear. You can put things in it or put it into a mold to dry. Also, whats it really called?

Is love a myth?
Like a goddess or god.
Is love real?
Or just a just a facade.

Is love truly
All you need?
Is love a necessity
Or is it greed?

I really liked the Harry Potter series. I also read Twilight by Stephanie Meyer and loved it. I like books that you can think about, but aren't boring. What book should I read now?

Growth

I'm old enough now.
No need to rub rose petals
on the truth anymore.
I smelled the reality of this.

Cluttered with forgotten poems,
carved walls, spirits, and loss,
My lonely home sits, awake
and waiting for me.

I have to write an easy about how john keats applied aristotle's Poetics. But i dont understand this poem.has anyone read or anylized this poem?

"Ode on a Grecian Urn" by John Keats

I
Thou still unravish’d bride of quietness,
Thou foster-child of silence and slow time,
Sylvan historian, who canst thus express
A flowery tale more sweetly than our rhyme:
What leaf-fring’d legend haunts about thy shape
Of deities or mortals, or of both,
In Tempe or the dales of Arcady?
What men or gods are these? What maidens loth?
What mad pursuit? What struggle to escape?
What pipes and timbrels? What wild ecstasy?
II
Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard
Are sweeter; therefore, ye soft pipes, play on;
Not to the sensual ear, but, more endear’d,
Pipe to the spirit ditties of no tone:
Fair youth, beneath the trees, thou canst not leave
Thy song, nor ever can those trees be bare;
Bold Lover, never, never canst thou kiss,
Though winning near the goal -- yet, do not grieve;
She cannot fade, though thou hast not thy bliss,
For ever wilt thou love, and she be fair!
III
Ah, happy, happy boughs! that cannot shed
Your leaves, nor ever bid the Spring adieu;
And, happy melodist, unwearied,
For ever piping songs for ever new;
More happy love! more happy, happy love!
For ever warm and still to be enjoy’d,
For ever panting, and for ever young;
All breathing human passion far above,
That leaves a heart high-sorrowful and cloy’d,
A burning forehead, and a parching tongue.
IV
Who are these coming to the sacrifice?
To what green altar, O mysterious priest,
Lead’st thou that heifer lowing at the skies,
And all her silken flanks with garlands drest?
What little town by river or sea shore,
Or mountain-built with peaceful citadel,
Is emptied of its folk, this pious morn?
And, little town, thy streets for evermore
Will silent be; and not a soul to tell
Why thou art desolate, can e’er return.
V
O Attic shape! Fair attitude! with brede
Of marble men and maidens overwrought,
With forest branches and the trodden weed;
Thou, silent form, dost tease us out of thought
As doth eternity: Cold Pastoral!
When old age shall this generation waste,
Thou shalt remain, in midst of other woe
Than ours, a friend to man, to whom thou say’st,
"Beauty is truth, truth beauty," -- that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.
