Could I be sued for my "theories" even if I present them as fiction?

I am not going to say what it is about aside from content that has to do with World War II and the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

it depends on what it's about. If it's about particular people, especially in government or celebrities,or whatever, there's a possibility. If it's more about a controversial issue; homosexuality, abortion, Religion, etc, i don't think there should be any grounds for a lawsuit,or anything, but there could still be a backlash by religious groups, PETA, Gay Rights activists, Pro-Lifers and such (like after John Lennon's misconstrued quote about The Beatles being bigger than Jesus or when Sinead O'Connor ripped up the pic of the Pope on SNL or Marilyn Manson post-Columbine). Plus, there's a chance it might be hard to even get your book published if it's too controversial because publishing companies may feel it's too much of a liability,or whatever. However, if you know that there are risks involved but are willing to take them,i think you should go for it because i don't believe in censorship and believe that true art is controversial sometimes. But just to be on the safe side, you might want to find a good lawyer, just in case.

you can't get sued unless your book harms someone, or if you plagiarize. just curious, what is this very controversial idea?
