traditional love poetry= courtly love, woman is idealized, and is pure and chaste, poets or knights would admire from afar, no sexual or physical contact. I would like someone else's opinion on whether Neruda sticks to such conventions in his poetry especially in poem 20 s he is classed as a contemporary poet.
