You have many options, but here is a list of songs that you do NOT want to do, mostly because they are overdone or many other people will be using them:
-Anything from Phantom of the Opera, especially "music of the night" and "think of me"
-"Somewhere over the rainbow" from the Wizard of Oz
-Anything from the "It" musical on Broadway (right now this would be Wicked)
-"On My Own" from Les Miserables
-"Seasons of love" from Rent
-"I'm Gonna wash that man right out of my hair" from South Pacific
-"Memory" from Cats
-"Tomorrow" and "Maybe" from Annie
This is not to say that they are not good songs, but they are not ideal for a vocal audition
You can try "Everything's coming up roses" from Gypsy, "A ******** Optimist" from South Pacific, or "Mama Will Provide" from Once on this island which are all very good songs and are not heard as often at auditions. I hope this helped.

I wouldn't do anything from RENT if you are auditioning for a kid's play. Think about kid's shows and pick a song - Sound of Music, Annie, etc. Don't do Tomorrow though - too well known and annoying. I'd stick with "My Favorite Things" or "The Lonely Goatherd." The latter would be especially good since you are a soprano. Break a leg!

have you ever considered Bye Bye Birdie? i will wager How attractive To Be a woman might artwork super for you! Kim is 15, it is not a belty music. She's a tomboy who thinks she's turning out to be to be a woman now (yet she's nonetheless purely a new child) :-) additionally verify out something Sandy sings in Grease, no longer very belty the two and in spite of the undeniable fact that that's properly commonplace, no longer very over finished anymore. some songs are famously sung 'belty' yet you additionally could lead on them to your guy or woman and a director make like them with a softer sound, you on no account understand. purely make your guy or woman good character options and if the director makes a tenet, bypass with it! I additionally like i'm Calm or or That'll teach Him from A humorous factor happened on a thank you to The talk board. there is likewise Goodnight My somebody from music guy. no longer my prominent, yet actual soprano and not belty. verify out right here characters and what they sing of their shows: Wendy - Peter Pan Joanna - Sweeney Todd Tuptim - The King & I Nanette - No, No, Nanette youthful Sally - Follies Julie Jordan - Carousel Luisa - Fantasticks that ought to get you began, yet of direction there are an excellent sort of judgements available! good success!

Hope your audition goes well, and please, send me a message saying how it went and what song you ended up doing. Best wishes, xxx Talula

It's a little too recent for my taste, but "Popular" from Wicked is really cute, and has a higher range. I would definately not suggest anything from Rent, as much as I love the show.
