I know this question might have been asked a few times before, but how do you think it would influence us and our lives, if we knew what the future would bring? I mean, would you like to be informed about your future break-ups, and maybe even know you're gonna die?

wow, that's deep. I think I'd want to know if I was going to have to suffer or if anyone I know and love would ever be in any danger. Dating break-ups are an experience that we should all go through, divorce and serious relationships like engagement .. well, I think knowing about that would save a great deal of money, credibility and having children and finances with the wrong person. I think knowing the future could help eliminate unsafe sexual encounters lowering the rate and stats on STD's etc. I guess I'm straddling the fence on your question, but it's a good one.

by knowing what you're future brings can actually alter the future. i mean think about it if you knew you were going to get hit by a bus tomorrow, and you knew the exact time and place it was going to happen you could avoid it.
a good example of this can be found in a movie that was in the theaters a couple months ago called Stranger Than Fiction. The main character knows what is going to happen to him, but because he knows it has to happen he allows it to happen, but in the end that's what saves him.
my point is the future is determined by our decisions. every decision has multiple choices. each choice leads to a different set of decisions that will occur in the future. so it's possible that every decision is in fact made, it's just made in an alternate reality.
it's kind of like if you could go back to a certain point in your life and change the choice you made would you? and if you did would you still end being the same person you are now? just something to think about huh.

No. I wouldn't want to know. It would be like skipping to the end of a movie or a book, the whole point is to enjoy the story & never know what's around the bend. Besides if you know the ending then you become obsessed with that instead of enjoying the life you're living now. It's important to live in the moment & make the most of it!

Luckily we don't get to know our futures ahead of time!

Which future? There are so many probabilities and possibilities, depending on the choices we make in every given moment of life, that our futures change all the time. There are an endless array of futures to choose from. A psychic may only be seeing one of these possibilities.

I would like to know about more specific things rather than the broad things like death. If I knew what my future was going to be, I think it would influence my anxiety. It feels as if my future is just something that I'm not supposed to know.

NO, NO, NO - I know I'm going to die someday, who's not, but knowing my future would make like scary, boring, etc. Not sure which. If I knew my future outcome, I may never leave the house again, how would that feel.

I use to (when I was in my teen and early twenties) go to psychics all the time. It was interesting and fun then. Now that I am in my thirtees I feel if I was told something would happen to myself or my family it would just always be there in my mind. All of my life experiences would be lived/shaped differently knowing that peice of info.... Im not saying I believe all psychics but still....

so no way. I would not want to know my future.

I can honestly say i wouldn't want to know..Life is better as a mystery, when you don't know what happens next, If i knew my future, i would take less risks, might not grow much as a person or learn to trust and love.

You're talking of Devil's Advocate. I personally wouldn't want to know. BUt I think people would act differently knowing what lies ahead. But it's all up to you and the decisions you make in life that puts you in the path you go for your future.

Of course i would. Knowing when i would die would stop me squandering life and knowing where i would end up would either make me quit pointless dreaming, or give me the confidence to achieve what i have seen in the future.
