Well I'm writing a letter to a Place in Germany to help with my family History and I'm wondering if there a Proper Name to refer to nazi's? I just dont want to come across rude to them or to anybody. thanks

It depends on what your family connection is with Germany and the Nazis. If you're of Jewish descent and had family that were in concentration camps and such, it's perfectly acceptable to say that you can't find records of them and if they know of any Nazi regime records.

I have a few friends in Germany who are ashamed of that time in history, but they are not offended when I ask them questions about it. It's history after all.

You could also use the Nazi Socialist Party (which I think is what it was officially called when Hitler was coming into power).

It as the "National Socialist Party", but "Nazi" won't offend anyone alive today.

The German name is "National Sozialist".
