Unless one construes peace in the spirit of domination a la Pax Romana, isn't the drive towards peace, in the anti-Orwellian sense, a death-drive?

Why do we value inaction, capstoning history, amnesty, and absolution? Isn't this just the working-class crying for another day off, freedom qua extension of the long-overdue vacation week in the Bahamas?

I've never enjoyed such a vacation. I'm trying to understand what peace is supposed to be like, but it seems either like a fatbastard fantasy (Pax Romana.. worker becoming leisurely class) or self-immolation, ultimate forgiveness, release from the material world...
i.e. death.

I would like your opinion in this poem I wrote:
She tried to call your house
Your mamma said you were out
The next day you wrote her a note
Saying that they you were pals no more
She thought it was a joke
She went up to your door...
Well look where her heart is now
She had no more pals
Her daddy died
You her friend left her when she needed you most
when she needed someone to hug
Her mom was at work and didnt want to be bugged
Later her mamma died
A cellphone in her mammas hand
A car crash was her mammas end
She was sent off to an orphanage
Lost and forgetful
She forgot she had a life
She sat at the egge of an old couch
Her body into an uncomfortable slouch
She cried herself to sleep sometimes
You her pal
you could have made her life easier
She had had enough she grabbed her bags and left
You Let her life lead close to an end
You her pal could have been there for her
You could have hugged her
One mistake you made made a difference

Dirge To Decadence

So, my cowardiced white brothers

Have your souls fallen?

More Low now than their cage.

Low, yet bodies yearn,

Escape to potent dust and slumbered dirge.

Have you crucified man's last upon the Somme maybe?

His final dignity buried in one thousand suns.

Lo! Even Death has turned his craven cowl,

Such tasteless meals as vanquished unlived;

Filthy youth in his trenchless peace.

White crowds, young hordes hungry for living hell;

Unspent and unmeant army that IS youth.

Overpleasured Caligulas;

Crumble now to potent dust.

I'm assuming a lot of people have read this particular book since Stephen King's books are all best sellers. But I thought this book was amazing. How does Mr. King do it? "It" and "The Green Mile"
are my favorites. They contain every great element of a story.

my mom says I've turned into a monster just because I became meaner than i used to be, but I never do anything bad, like drugs, smoking, drinking, and i get straight a's. I hate my school (she and dad wanted me to go there) and I have a way of thinking different than my friends', and different passions. because people got me wrong and were mean to me, of course i changed. but the thing is that i tried to talk to her and get her to be with me when i was upset or depressed. but she holds everything against me! even the fact that i am fat. i changed before her eyes. she didn't do anything to help me. she is always busy, and says that all i want is money. I am still in highschool and i want to experiment things, like drama clas and sports, but she says that i don't have time for anything and that i have to read and study whenever i have free time (from school, reading and studying, that is). and if i try to do something my way, she holds it against me,although she is often wrong too. HELP!

a public school in west virginia is presently locked in a court case against the americanCivil Liberties Union and Americans United for separation of church and state, the reason of the battle is a portrait of Jesus Christ hanging on the wall of the school, the county board of education has sided with the school in keeping the portrait but the ACLU say school is sending a message that indorses Christianity, should the portrait stay or go? why not put Budah ,the star of David, and other symbols to bring unity and diversity, why take it down, ? what do you guys think?
