what accent do the moles have? I think its either Australian or Cockney.

Neither - Cornwall.

apparently, it's based on the accent of "old Cornwall men" :D

I think gracefulangie is right. When I listened to the book on CD, it didn't sound cockney, and it DEFINITELY was not Australian. It was British of some sort, but not nasally. like the cockney.

Hmm...I'm not sure. Sometimes, it's hard to tell. I'm not positive on this, but from reading them myself, I'm going to say it's cockney accents. The main difference also is a subtle way in which they talk, and what key words they use when they talk. I hope this helps you in your question.
