Hello, all:

Our local full moon group had a Yule ritual this evening (held in advance of the solstice in order to keep peoples' calendars free for the leadup to Christmas), where we honored the Goddess and Her child, the Sun which will be "reborn" at the solstice itself. We raised energy with a chant and used that energy to infuse cakes, mead, and jars of homemade jelly with the power of new hope, light, and inspiration, and spoke of our dreams and hopes for the coming year.

What are you doing for Yule this year? Are you holding a ritual? If so, what do you plan to do (if you're willing to share)?

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to respond.

I think I'm a pretty good guy: ok on looks, a little chubby, good job, some college, paid for Camry, have an apartment.
The last girl I liked thought I was kinda a loser for not having a house but she also lived in an apartment. She was also concerned that I haven't finished my degree and I'm making the same money that she makes with her Masters. Other women have told me they only date tall guys. Another one says she wants someone more established, but she complains to me the older guys she dates often leave her home on a Saturday night. So I'm 33, 5"4", can't be too poor if I've traveled 3 other countries on two continents, I dress nice, am respectful to women, nice and helpful. Am also Loyal to friends.
So what the H-LL I am missing here? Is there a secret quality women are looking for that they won't tell us? What is wrong with me?

I got past the inital point where EVERY day was a BAD day, crying, thinking about him and the relationship EVERY WAKING SECOND, and not being able to eat or sleep.I am now at a point where I have good moments and bad moments. I don't think I've had a full good day. But maybe once every 2 hours I get sad for about 15 minutes, sometimes I cry. But I am functional for the most part.WHEN WILL THESE BAD MOMENTS STOP? WHAT SHOULD I DO TO SPEED UP MY HEALING PROCESS.HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET OVER IT.the relationship was 4.5 years long. We just broke up a week ago. I am wondering if I will have some massive relapse, because a week seems like a SHORT time to be over my crippling depression (GOD KNOWS IM NOT COMPLAINING, I AM GLAD I AM OVER IT).But this guy was my LIFE, my ALL...(not in an unhealthy obsessive way...just LOVE!!)Is it ok to be over the worse already? (IT FEELS GOOD), but is it normal? AM i even over the worse? what should I expect? What should I do? it still hurts SOO much!!!

We do eat some things that seem a little out of the mainstream, but are really good. Like buffalo meat--low cholesterol, lean, and really better flavor than beef. And you cook it just like beef, only the steaks need to be more rare because it will get tough if it is cooked too long. I had a roast that needed to be cooked because the food in the freezer thawed when our power was off--and it made the best pot roast you could ever eat! And ground buffalo makes the very best chili.

We also eat things like miso soup and tahini, and I have learned to cook vegan for my daughter and her family. Any body else have any non-mainstream foods in their diet?

So I understand that while high their are clear short-term memory losses, but after extensively searching I have yet to find anything regarding the effects of marijuana on learning that has occured prior to usage. For example, if you study all day, and then smoke (granted you leave at least an hour for what you learned to process before you start), what is the effect of that marijuana on your brain's ability to retain and imprint the learned material, and specifically, how might it affect the long-term storage which occurs as you sleep. Any help in the right direction would be useful--I never used to smoke after studying because I imagined there might be some adverse affect, but I have tried on a series of occasions now and I haven't noticed any differences. And for those of you (I know there will be some) who are tempted to answer my question with an inane comment about how bad weed is, I attend a top university and have near perfect grades, with an active social life, so hah. =P

I have a house paid for free and clear. How much will a lender allow me to take out on a Home Equity Line of Credit? My friend told me only 40% of the value of the home. Is that true?

I'm a 23 yr. old who graduated from college about 12 hours ago. But I've been contemplating teaching English in Japan for a good deal longer than that.

I particularly want to know--is it possible to find a contract that only lasts for 6 to 9 months, rather than an entire year? Although I think I'm capable of teaching for a year, I'm reluctant because my mom is 57 and in currently stable (but unpredictable) health.

Of course, I'm eager to read any and all other bits of information and opinions you can give me on the subject of teaching English in Japan.

Thanks a bunch! ^_^

with me?
ive had paranoia for a long time, im a great trauma, abuse and bullying survivor to. i have borderline personality disorder.
ive never made any friends in life at all. because of the problems ive had socially and having low self esteem.

the few friends ive made which are 1 or 2 online, have not made contact for weeks,. i already feel as though im being ostracized and singled out by people, which ive felt for a long time...and the fact that the few good people ive met online have just stopped contacting me.......im thinking theyve been told to discontinue contact and have been told to avoid me....

this is making me angry and depressed and more isolated than i already feel....

ive begun to isolate myself, have bad anxiety and panic everyday...i have bleak low moods everyday..

how can i handle the fact that everybody i seem to discover always leaves me....and maybe the fact theyve been told to stay away, not get involved?

theists have the courage to make a stand. They choose to believe wholeheartedly in something for which there is no evidence and something that is highly irrational and illogical.

Ok, there is a slight issue. I like a girl at my school, and the thing is, now that I have noticed things, I realize that I have been too clingy. You know, Instant Messaging while she is online(or not), talking to her any chance I get, and other annoying stuff. The thing is, I have done this in the past, but the girls I liked, well I got over them, but she is different. I dont know why I keep doing this, but I need to fix things, before the new year preferably. I really like her, and I dont want to ruin this chance. I need help from all sources. I am losing it here, I cant figure out how to fix things. I need some really good advice here. I just want advice, not criticism, so keep the harshness down please. I have even bought her somehting for christmas, but I need the next step in my plan before giving her this gift. I have 6 days to do this before the new year(before school lets out), help me!

I'm trying to get The Sims 2 to work on my computer. Whenever I start it up, I get this message:

"Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate."

I know for a fact my computer has the latest DirectX installed, so the trouble is my video card, i'm assuming. It's a Diamond Fire GL1... it's a special card my dad uses to design stuff for his work. Does the game not regognize the card or something? What's going on? please help.

I was recently in a car accident where the car hit the highway median and flipped a few times before landing, and it was totaled. I got out with just a bloody knee and a cut. Without my seatbelt I for sure wouldve been seriously injured even dead. I remember saying to myself during the accident "thank god for this seatbelt" bc it was restraining me so much.

Anyways, I was wondering what the death rate is for those who wear seatbelts. Whenver I hear of an accident where someone dies they weren't wearing a seatbelt. Now how many deaths occur even though the victim is wearing a seatbelt?
