Some of those words do apply to me and some do not.
I've stated elsewhere on this forum why I think doubt it important, and why I as a religious person embrace it.
I'm Pagan, and I learn from my doubts. I'll make a stand based on what I suspect to be true, but I'm quite honest about the doubts I still have about those beliefs. Furthermore, I can admit that there is no *concrete* evidence for my beliefs, but I *do* have enough evidence to give me a reason to believe in my religion because of my spiritual experiences. I'm well aware of the limitations of this kind of evidence, too.
I think my faith is actually more rational than you give it credit for.

Not true. We find there to be plenty of evidence and rationality. We admit that it takes a bit more obtuse thinking and a broadening of your grasp of reality to begin to include our spiritual aspects.
I admit I believe wholeheartedly in things that OTHER people may find illogical, but I can't accept responsibility for other people sense of logic or desire to understand.
I know for fact that I have found all the evidence (and then some) required prove that my faith is not unfounded. The evidence is out there and readily available, but if you aren't open to finding it, you wont. I can not and will not accept responsibility for other people ability to investigate adequately.
Isn't it interesting that people say how illogical, irrational, and how much evidence is lacking for Christianity. Yet, it's been the single most scrutinized and persecuted "object" in the past 2000years but has never been disproven? I find it very interesting that in many of the attempts to disprove it have actually had the opposite effect.

This is really easy stuff, but people bring it up because they don't understand it. God gives proof of Himself to those who trust Him. He gave me the proof, and if anyone wants the proof they have to get it from Him, the way I did and the way He said to get it.
Those people who say that they do not have any proof are saying it right. They do not have the proof of God because he did not give it to them.
It's as simple I can explain it.
The proof of God in these times is through His Spirit. He gives His Spirit to those who trust Him. Those that made peace with Him. Jesus said that it would be that way. The reason why God gives His Spirit to some and not to others is because He does not want everybody.
People just don't get that including most Christians.
I don't know how else to explain it to you.
So people keep asking for evidence, and it's there in Archeology and in the Bible, and in the testimony of the saints - of which I am one.
But I expect this answer to just fall through the cracks into nothing because most of the time people who ask the question are not interested in the truth, but only in what they've already come to accept as the truth.

You state that there is no evidence for what we believe and that it is highly irrational and illogical. I completely disagree. Before I new the Lord I would simply look at the things in nature. Trees, rivers, rock formations, a baby or young child. I saw & see God in each. Those things speak to me of the very existence of God. I don't know how anyone could look at anything in nature and not recognize that there is a much higher power, higher intelligence that has designed all of this.
To me it is simply a decision to truly see or be blind. My Dad always quoted "There is none so blind as those who will not see"

Try as I might I just can't believe in the God that depicted in the Judeo-Christian Bible. I firmly believe that man made God in his own image, both the best and worst of man are included in the package. For example, Thou shalt not kill, simple, direct; right? Read the Old Testament, it's filled with God sanctioned murders, rapes and pillaging. Please Don't tell me I don't understand the mind of God- thats a given; what I do understand is that if a human being acted the way God is supposed to have acted he'd be put into an aslyum so fast his head would spin.
As for evolution, there are fossils and intermediate forms that have been found so you don't have to believe it its just there People don't have to believe , nothing will happen if they do or don't, there is no punishment for ot believing, unlike with god who seems to give infinite punishment for finite sins. These are my own beliefs, sorry if I offended anyone

Sure does!!Faith has nothing to do with logic, and even the bible tells us that "the wisdom of this world is foolishness to
God", and that the evidence of God is everywhere around us. Let me tell you, if you had been healed of several things you'd been told were not going to go away you'd believe too, and no one would ever be able to change your mind!! God Bless.

Read Hebrews the 11th Chapter (also known as the Faith Chapter) it gives you the true and accurate definition of Faith. Faith requires evident demonstration of the things hoped for... so it comes down to being absolute to build faith that there has to be evidence for each individual to be able to hold on to. Blind faith is not faith at all.

No, and by the way you are just as irrational and illogical considering there is a total of two (x's)-unknowns in the equation of God -matter or the chicken and egg debate. You are upset about what your soul is trying to tell you because this means you wil begin to become convicted of your sins

There is no evidence for evolution, but yet people believe in it wholeheartedly. I think there is more evidence for theists.
