I was online researching nursing last night. I ran across a couple of articles on nursing. I was surprised to see that according to the articles 600,000 nurses per year in America get accidently stuck by needles when they are giving patients injections or dealing with IV lines. If you are a nurse or in nursing school, has this ever happened to you? From the article that I read, I got the impression that this happens to nurses on a regular basis. It seems as if nurses are at high risk of contracting blood-borne infectious diseases. RNs, LPNs, CNAs, MDs please share your 1st hand knowledge/experience on this (2nd hand knowledge would be appreciated too).

I’ve noticed that some people when asked about where they are from they reply with a few different nationalities like “My mother's mother is half British and half American and my dad's dad is half Jamaican and half Scottish” which is ok but then some people go as far back as their great great grandparents

What’s the point in this? Do their nationalities really have anything to do with the person I’m asking about anymore?

I would usually not think or really care about this but I was talking to a girl who said she was 1/14 Jamaican which I don’t understand at all! Is that possible?

What's the point couldn’t we just start over and say we are 'wherever we were born'?

Cary, North Carolina-Private school. My friend was texting in class and his phone was taken. The school said that they had the 'right' to read the text messages because they had taken the phone. Following this I was questioned by the administration, who didn't follow proper procedure found in the handbook, and I was told that 2 people had admitted that I had supplied them with cough medicine. I was suspended for the rest of the day and the following day and I came to find that no one had ever said anything about me they just went with what the texts said, but do keep in mind I did not supply anyone with anything. Would I have been suspended for Tylenol? So my question is even though I am almost 18 an its a private school, were any of my rights or my friends rights violated? Any of the amendments such as the First, freedom of speech, or the Fourth, protection against unreasonable seizures, even though they had reason to take his phone but not to read the texts.

Thanks yall

Light in air strikes a transparent plate of an unknown material at an angle of incidence of 60 degrees. Part of the beam is reflected and part refracted. A measurement shows that the angle between the reflected and refracted beams is 90 degrees with each other. What is the index of refraction of the material?

I always had a crush on my ex's best friend, even when we were together. We broke up two years ago, but I recently was lost my apt, and moved into my ex's apt. We sleep in seperate rooms, and their is nothing between us anymore. However, I hooked up with his best friend three months ago, and we have been talking and seeing each other ever since. My ex found out, and was livid, but we were through two years ago! Well, now I cannot see his friend, and we are limited to exchanging emails daily. I really want to see him, and my ex is making life for me miserable. I am a grown woman, but I feel badly about this whole thing. I do not want to stop talking to his friend, we get along better than I ever did with my ex, and he is closer to my age. Am I wrong for wanting to be with this guy, or what? Can anyone out there relate or help me?

I have a few questions to ask about my friend who is dying. My friend has been a cancer patient since age 12 and is now losing his battle at age 17. At his last visit to the doctors they gave him 6 weeks to live. It's been 15 weeks since that visit. Recently his condition has worsened to the point that he's on oxygen.

People at my school keep asking about his condition when they refuse to call, go see him or even send him an e-mail. It gets annoying and makes me very depressed while in school. What's a polite way to tell them to go away?

My next question is about next year. I'm a high school senior and I've got a full scholarship to a tech school in Arizona. I currently live on the east coast should I take the scholarship even though I'll still be mourning my friend's death?

My last question is about my friend's family. Currently they try and include me in everything they do, but when my friend dies I don't think I'll be able to face them. What should I do?

It has to some effect, at least it gets the candidate mentioned every once in a while.
If someone like Rush or O'Reilly endorses a candidate, if you can't stand Rush or Bill, isn't that more of reason NOT to vote or support said candidate?
Who has Sean Penn endorsed, anyway??

I live in Colombia, and my cable company has decided to discontinue Fox News Channel. Fox has been replaced by a comedy channel. (Apparently only about 150 people watch Fox here on a regular basis)

(My blood pressure has stabilised lately, I have to add, but I miss the comedy value)
Should I be disappointed or happy?
