Nope. The kits mimic nature, a single stone tumbling down the creek bed for years and years, sand washing over it, etc.
The kits are great, just set them up and forget them for a few weeks, ckeck, tumble some more, check, change your polish grit, you start with rough grit and go through a few steps til you get down to a polishing powder.
My rocks took about 6 months from start to finish. You get used to the noise :)

Even with a kit it takes a very long time. The instructions say a week I think with the machine being on constantly. We got one of these for the kids years ago but didn't want to leave it running for so long.

I suppose it's possible in theory. But it would be very difficult.
