It has legal weight because so many religious broadcasts are sharing political views and not just engaged in religious evangelization. And some of the more fundamentalist preachers take shots at other faiths on the air. Unfortunately we have come a long way from the days of "Music and the Spoken Word" on radio and Bishop Fulton J. Sheen on TV.
