The rulers of this world are making such a mess of it, don't you sometimes wish we would be invaded from outer space by technologically-superior aliens who would bring these rulers to their knees?

Read "The Alien Agenda", a comprehensive book that ties extra-terrestrials, paranormal activity and remote viewing together. The author claims government remote viewers know that extra-terrestrials are watching us from about 600 miles above our atmosphere, ready to interfere if and when the Earth appears to start self-destructing.
An alien invasion would finally eliminate all the warring factions on this planet to come together and fight a common enemy. It would be, perhaps, the most fruitful and productive event ever to impact this wretched world. -RKO- 12/09/07

I've a grim suspicion that we've got the "rulers" we deserve; worse, that they are wholly representative. Therefore I'm rather tolerant of the bastards...
Now I've a sense that your invasion scenario assumes that humanity's various factions would unite against the common enemy. That's a dangerous assumption inasmuch as our divisions run deep. Thus we could find ourselves saddled with a government of BEM's (Bug-Eyed Monsters!) And that New World Order would probably be worse, more brutal than the present "mess."

Carl Sagan used to say the one thing that would bring the world together would be an alien invasion, but I am skeptical these days that even something like that would stop radical Islam.
I don't believe it's the rulers of the world making the mess. It's those that oppose them that are.
