From like the 1880s to the 1920s, there were a lot of immigrants coming to the USA. any specific reasons why the italians immigrated?

I'm a bit stuck! My flat is fine but the neighbourhood leaves a lot to be desired!! Mountains of rubbish outside, filthy lobby etc. I've tried advertising for a flatmate but no - ones going to want to live here. I've registered with a few flatshare sites but what I really want to find is somewhere I can advertise for someone to flat hunt with me. The classifieds don't seem to do it. Could afford a better bplace with the rent shared.

That is right, the AKC does requires the parents be recorded with them to pass on the AKC papers. Trust me this permits alot of fraud. Most breeders are not checked, there are not usually dna tested, there is no picture required, no health certification required (just record keeping that certifies the parents were registered (nothing else) If someone wanted to commit fraud it would be easy with the AKC, actually easier because the average person is not willing to sign on confirming picturers are authentic etc unless their part of the fraud. fraud is easily done with the AKC by connecting a parents AKC registration with a new puppie. Lets be honest the AKC is only a ancestry record by name only (for most registered AKC dogs not being showed (which is most of the AKC dogs) To tell an individual that simple because a dog is not AKC registered the dogs isn't healthy, free of genetic problems, purebred and show quality would be a lie. lets push healthy animals not the health of the AKC

NPR did a piece this morning about a commercial that aired in Italy.

It featured the usual manger scene with Maru and Jesus and the wise men bearing gifts, but instead of just the standard three with gold, francincense and myhrr, there was also a 4th wise man bringing a can of Red Bull.

Now, I thought it was hysterical, but apparently the Church didn't agree. I can't quite even see how it's offensive: it's just adding another person who is bringing a gift to the newborn King, right? Okay, so maybe baby Jesus isn't big on Red Bull. maybe He doesn't need a soft drink to give Him wings. But why would it be offensive? I think it was clever.

I am being charged a "monthly fee" from eBay. I just bought something like 2 days ago, but I PAID FOR IT!!!! And I don't know why they are charging me $6.92. Conveniently for them, their responses are automated and they have no phone number that I am aware of.

Hey guys i need help. Im going to india in two days and need to buy a laptop so i cant buy it online becuase it would take to long. I also need wireless interent connection. The government is always saying we should not rely on the state for our pension. We should save and sacrifice when we are young so that we are not a burden on the state when we are old.

So why do they allow gold diggers to marry someone for a couple of years or three then walk away with half of what he or she saved for their old age?

It's just my Mom and I and we are struggling financially this year. No one wants to put up a tree and decorations 'cause no one wants to take them down and we aren't having any commpany. I thought maybe I should atleast put some lights outside,right? I also got a OWUI (very stupid, I learned my lesson and now am very broke from lawyers and bail) and I am worried that I'll get jail even though it's my first offense. We don't have any family to go to. We would go on a vacation like a New York City or Vancouver Christmas but I screwed that up this year! I was thinking if I could volunteer for an organization that helps the needy with Christmas gifts. We do have enough money to buy some smaller gifts and toys but I'd like to help deliver them so I could see the kid's reactions! Is there such thing as "adopting" a family for Christmas? My dog may be having pups around New Years so that is one thing to look forward to. We live an hour from Chicago so we could go there. HELP!

And a local animal charity were advertising half price vouchers for vets fees, including this operation.
It only applied to one particular vets, who after contacting said we cannot operate on your ***** as she is too big, and we are only a small practice, ie small dogs and cats only.

So they refer me to their partners down the road, who after contacting quoted me 190 euros to do the operation, then I must pay it and personally claim back half the money from the Charity.

I origanally though that is was some understanding between the vets and the Charity, but it turns out that, the vets charge FULL price and you have to go and CLAIM the money back yourself!

I don't earn much but I am not going to a animal charity and asking them for 95 euros to put in my own pocket! It doesn't seem right. What would you do.

Oh and I know my usual vet charges 150 euros for this same operation! So if was was to go anywhere I should go here and save myself and the charity 20 euros a piece
