I'd have mixed emotions and I guess we'd have to do a lot of talking to figure out what to do next!! I'd want to know where he'd been and what he'd been doing and why he hadn't been in touch for a start! After that I'd need to assess my life and my family's situation before deciding what to do next - I mean imagine I'd remarried and had another child; then what?
It's a tough one! I'd be so happy to see him, but with so many questions...

I think you meant life insurance right?Like insurance normally will not be given out til the body has been found there are cases like steve fossett where the family filed for death certificate his plane was lost. But its very hard to get insurance compnaies to give you the money in cases such as this ..for the reaosn they might have just left and not died.
I would not take him back and I would remarry and I would sue him for distress and im sure I could find a few other things.

It'd be kind of like the twilight zone, but the more I read into it insurance scam comes to mind. Especially since the wife split to another country, one with a no extradition policy in fact, just before he showed back up. I think they both got some questions to answer.
ADDED: He's been arrested for fraud, a photo of he and his wife in Panama in 2006 has been uncovered.

honestly, I'd be happy to see him but then I think that would wear down. you have to learn how to love someone again like that after five years! I don't know if I'd be miffed, per say, at paying back money, but I know it'd cause a damper in my spirits. ( i know that sounds vain, but gotta be honest ). I can't imagine how that would be like for someone that's had to actually go through that!

A missing person isn't declared legally dead until after 7 years. So you could not have collected any insurance money or remarried in only 5 years.
Addition: Western New York, dear, you are completely off base. No body -- no death certificate. No death certificate, absolutely no insurance money!
No body -- no death certificate. No death certificate -- no dissolution of marriage. No dissolution of marriage, absolutely no getting legally married to another person!

It depends on why he was missing for 5 years. If he was held captive I would be happy to get him back. If he was playing around all this time I would get a divorce immediately.

Wierd, especially if you have your picture taken with him only last year, smiling and happy on holiday in Panama. Anyone else smell a rat?

I'd be extremely surprised, because I'm a chap and I have absolutely no memory of marrying another fella, let alone losing him for five years.

On sky news they were showing a photo of both of them taken a couple of years ago, so i think they will both get done for fraud.
