I am being charged a "monthly fee" from eBay. I just bought something like 2 days ago, but I PAID FOR IT!!!! And I don't know why they are charging me $6.92. Conveniently for them, their responses are automated and they have no phone number that I am aware of.

Ok--I just realized something. I TRIED selling something in November. But the lady who "bought" it gave me the run around. And I never ended up selling it through ebay. So do I still have to pay the fee?

How did you find out about the fee email or through their site?

If you sold somethings you have to pay a fee. I have never heard of fees otherwise and I have done it for years. If you get any crap about it, forget them. Right now, before any trouble starts, get another EBAY identity, just use a different name and birthday. How can they check? If your name is Jane Mary Doe, Make it JM Doe. That way, at least you get your mail. Some folks I know have three or four identities.
If it is e-mailed, ignore it, it is a false flag. If it is in messages on your E_bay account it is real.

It sounds to me like you sold something in November.
They automatically take it from your bank account or charge your credit card, whatever is on file.
Buyers dont pay fees to ebay.
If you already paid it, you will have a credit of $6.92.

Ebay only charge sellers for selling and should NEVER charge buyers.

They have obviously made some error.

Don't pay it but you need to contact them somehow or they will prevent you from buying/selling and setting up another account.

There must be an email facility to mail them directly.

Check their help files and message boards for similar incidents.

Check your account to see if you signed up to be a seller. If so, then that is where the charge is coming from. If you are only a buyer, you should not have a charge of any kind. Keep looking on their site until you find a way to contact them. They can be reached.

Go to your account page (shows what you are bidding on/won/lost etc.)

Along the left hand side are items like My Messages, My Selling, and somewhere should be My Subscriptions. click on it.

Apparently you signed up for something, go through My Subscriptions and cancel it.

good luck

at the top right hand corner of the ebay page is a bit that says 'live help'. go into this - i think you email your problem to them and they respond. also, have you sold anything? they charge you to sell stuff.

likley you accidently signed up for some type of premium membership. you should contact ebay (see customer service for e-mail / phone #). if that doesn't get you your money back, call your bank or credit card company to reverse the charge and re-credit your account.

because its ebay, never trust them. i know from experience. they probably fraudulently signed you up for something. contact your bank to try to get those funds refunded, and contact ebay and cancel whatever scam they signed you up for without your consent.
