Was this arrest justified?

Well I can't really comment on if it was justified or not, since I don't know the laws, or background on this. We can't tell by the small section of video, if he had done something previous that was an arrestable offense, and they waited until then to make the arrest. I can tell you one thing though, maybe this will show that being an idiot while being arrested doesn't get you anywhere. If he was smart he would have complied with the arrest, and if he felt it was unjust, let his lawyer handle it. Now he looks like an idiot in front of the jury, and has no credibility when he says he was minding his own business, and was being such a great guy, unjustly attacked by police. I don't know much about the laws of assembly in Canada, maybe they didn't have a legitimate permit or something. But he brought it on himself for acting the way he did during the arrest. Whether he agreed with the reason for the arrest or not, acting like he was, they should have kicked his teeth out, instead of trying to be semi forceful.

listen, 'peaceful' protesters are arrested every day. it's no violation of their rights. the owner and administrators of the university have a right to run the institution without interference. i cannot tell from that video what those protesters were doing but they had bullhorn and enough of them to disturb the peace. freedom of speech and expression is not limitless especially when it's interfering with another's right to run a school

if the vid was clearer we might be able to tell more , he was probably charged with in sighting a riot, but i don't think it was justified
