Nascar's....... WINTER ''TWEAKING'' ??? Any Idea's ???

If Nascar is gonna spend the holiday's... ''Tweaking''..... Again!!
Why not get creative ?? Here's an idea !! Pick a cookie-cutter track. It can be an Atlanta date.... Driver qualify's 'HIS' car. Then Sunday morning,draw car numbers out of a hat,and that's the car you race. Qualify well... You may pick your own car !!!
Fan's of, not so well equiped drivers would get a chance to see what their driver really has !! Every driver who made a speech at the banquet said, ''It's all about THE FAN'S right ?
The C.O.T may not put on quite a show !! They need to liven thing's up somehow. Just a thought ???

Yes I agree Snake they need to put some Old Time methods back into the Show. When I 1st started racing way back they Had Tons of Specialty races to attract the Crowds.
1. The Flag pole Race-once around the oval then once around the Flag Pole--The Flag pole was Cemented into a big Monster Truck tire about 50 feet past the start finish line 20 feet in the infield after going around the flag pole then back around the oval for lap 2
2.Drivers Dash--You lined up your cars Front bumper against the Front Stretch Outside wall in qualifying order. Us drivers shut the cars off. All drivers lined up across from their car in the infield--They waved the Green flag you had to run across the track Jump in your car buckle in and take off.
3.Opposite way race--Turn 4 was turn 1 Race counter clockwise.
4.Powder Puff Derby 10--Your wife or girlfriend drove your car in a 10 lap race.
It is a wonder I didnt get hurt!!!!

Well, if you want to get creative...

Tracks visited twice a year. Run one race clockwise, the second one reverse.

A twist on your hat thing. Have your grand martial pull a number out of a hat, and invert the start for that number of cars.

Bring in 2 dirt tracks this year.

That would be a fun race to watch. It could work if all the drivers were the same size but in reality it would be dangerous to race with a seat and safety equipment that wasn't tailored to each driver. Great idea though.

Snake, thats a pretty good idea I had to read through it a couple times, can't they just dump the COT.. It would be wild seeing them in different cars, without their specific seat and steering wheels etc..it would be a wild one sure it would liven things up, somehow I can't see big man Michael Waltrip in little man's Kasey Kahne's car...that might hurt.. You thought about this while you were at the spa..huh..

Well, they throw phantom debris cautions anyways, why not make it a part of the format? Throw a competition yellow, then invert the field - like they did for The Winston years ago. That would make things interesting - Tony Stewart dominates the race, then the yellow comes out, and he has to go to the rear of the field. I could just hear him voicing his opinion right now...man, he's ticked!

Josh has an awesome idea about running the races turning right the second round. these guys would totally freak. what about taking Talladega out of the chase and putting in a third road course?

i like the idea but some of the low class no bodys in nascar will get their cars destroyed ( wether on puropes or not) AND THEY DONT GET A LOT OF PRIZE MONEY so there cars totled and they dont have the money to fix it. also every one will crash becuase they dont have the right car setup

i do race go carts and if i was in someone else's cart i'd proabably crash.

Good theory here.But with all the little"specials" each driver has in his car from the seat to steering wheel to the type shifter knob it would be hard to do,but I like the thought.
I'd like to see quailifing done a s a series of heat races.

I would love to see them run some of the tracks in the opposite direction. It'd throw off everything from the driving to the pit stops.

Wouldn't that be cool! I'd vote for that! And so what if they didn't have their usual custom made seat, etc. Let's see if you can race, dude!
