I am having problems getting a loan as am a ex-bankrupt a few years back, i got a letter from ADVANTAGE LOANS, they seek £49.50 to get a approved loan within 3 to 5 days, i did this last year and in return it was a waste of time and dont want to be conned again, is it a CON.

I have recently been working aprx 30 hrs per wk under a 1099. I currently have no other income but my wife does work under W2. I'm looking for a clear explination of what 1099 means come TAX time. What percentage should I be setting aside to pay for the taxes? I've reviewed the IRS site but not able to make clear sense of it all. Any links or reponses greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

One day Mrs. Jones went to have a talk with the minister at the local church. "Reverend," she said, "I have a problem, my husband keeps falling asleep during your sermons. It's very embarrassing. What should I do?"

"I have an idea," said the minister. "Take this hatpin with you. I will be able to tell when Mr. Jones is sleeping, and I will motion to you at specific times. When I motion, you give him a good poke in the leg."

In church the following Sunday, Mr. Jones dozed off. Noticing this, the preacher put his plan to work. "And who made the ultimate sacrifice for you?" he said, nodding to Mrs. Jones.

"Jesus!", Jones cried as his wife jabbed him the leg with the hatpin.

"Yes, you are right, Mr. Jones," said the minister. Soon, Mr. Jones nodded off again. Again, the minister noticed. "Who is your redeemer?" he asked the congregation, motioning towards Mrs. Jones.

"God!" Mr. Jones cried out as he was stuck again with the hatpin.

"Right again," said the minister, smiling. Before long, Mr. Jones again winked off. However, this time the minister did not notice. As he picked up the tempo of his sermon, he made a few motions that Mrs. Jones mistook as signals to bayonet her husband with the hatpin again.

The minister asked, "And what did Eve say to Adam after she bore him his 99th son?"

Mrs. Jones poked her husband, who yelled, "You stick that goddamned thing in me one more time and I'll break it in half and shove it up your ***!"

"Amen," replied the congregation.

My mother has cancer and is living with me. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with an 8 month old and an 8 year old children. There is no other room in the apartment. I am a student fulltime and work part time. My mother is enrolled with hospice. She has been getting worse for the last couple of months. She had 2 surgeries to remove some of the cancer in her liver to prolong her life but it seems to have made her worse. She can do for herself but she wont. I cant even get her to take a bath (please no ewww or make fun) I am the only child (25) and the only other family is my aunt who has a 4 bedroom house. She wont help me with finding my mom a better living enviornment. Would I be wrong to place her in an assisted living facility? I want her to live with me, but I only have a small 2 bedroom and no money to move to a bigger place. I make sure she gets her meds but thats all I can do, having 2 young kids myself. She has medicare. Is assisted living the best, or will I be wrong to do this

I just started playing WoW not to long ago and am now lvl 62 and wanting to learn more about end game raiding and heroic dungeons.

Is there a website anyone can recommend that talks about a few different aspects of this? I really do not know anything about this as I have only been playing with friends or solo. I would like to learn what exactly raids are and what I can expect, (not so much what I can expect from a guild or raid group, but the dungeons/places/bosses etc) good examples of raiding gear/weapons (so I can start obtaining now) and any other info that someone as new as me may need.

What do you call the reciever and giver and do you agree before hand who does what first, or do you have like, fixed roles.
Also, if you don't like to be the reciever, does it disadvantage you totally or can you work around it? (so to speak)

It really happened here in Texas. During this last Ramadan, a fundamentalist 5th grade teacher gave a Muslim student a snack during daily snack time, even though his father sent all the teachers and counselors a letter explaining why fasting was sacrosanct to his religious holiday.

Her remark to another teacher was "Fasting is a silly practice."

The student himself told the teacher he didn't want the snack, but the teacher pressed him to eat it anyway, that fasting was silly.

The teacher apologized to the kid's parents because her principal "encouraged" her to, but in private she said that as a Christian, she didn't need to respect other religions' precepts.

I know this because I have a friend who works with her, who was telling me about this last night.

What are your thoughts? Does being a Christian excuse us from being even superficially courteous to other people's beliefs?
